  • Patent number: 4570562
Abstract: The invention relates to light, sailing vehicles equipped with at least one sail fixed on a mast and attached to a boom. The mast is supported toward its middle part at the top of a two-legged support, in the form of an inverted V, and mounted rigidly on the frame of the vehicle, while the foot of the mast is mounted in such a manner as to be capable of sliding along a cross member substantially perpendicular to the plane of symmetry of said frame and shifted toward the front with respect to the transverse plane passing through the top of the two-legged support.

  • Patent number: 4509806
Abstract: According to the invention, each corner post includes an exterior section having the general shape of an angle iron, the intersecting sides of which are intended to comprise the corresponding corner of the furniture, and an interior section substantially receiving the plane bisecting the corner as a plane of symmetry, the interior section including at least one tubular element capable of receiving at each of its ends a self-tapping screw or some other means for the fixation, at the lower end, of a shoe or foot with the possible interposition of a lower partition pierced by the screw and, at the upper end, of the top of a piece of furniture or of a cap covering the tip of the corner, while at least one of the sections, either exterior or interior, is provided with detent means preventing the lateral displacement of the partitions forming the corresponding angle of the furniture.

  • Patent number: 4245848
Abstract: A skateboard or the like supported by two articulated steerable trucks which pivot about two non-parallel axes that are oblique with respect to the surface on which the board travels. The two pivotal axes converge to an inter-section lying below the chassis at a point lying between the two support trucks. Each of the trucks includes an articulated member holding a shaft on which wheels are mounted. In order to improve the directional stability of the skateboard, the wheel shafts of each of the two trucks lie rearward of the pivotal axes of the articulated parts of the trucks.

  • Patent number: 4223620
Abstract: A catamaran type vessel has two parallel hulls and a metal tubular framework linking the hulls. Rigid members extend longitudinally within the hulls and have extensions projecting from the upper surfaces of the hulls for coupling with the framework. This reduces hull stresses and allows lighter hulls. Expanded plastics foam may be used to hold the rigid members in the hulls. The hulls may be inclined inwardly to give an asymmetrical catamaran type configuration.

  • Patent number: 4049287
Abstract: A wind-propelled sail vehicle comprises a perimeter frame, a mast and a chassis with three support members such as wheels, pads or skis. Two support members of fixed orientation are situated forward, the third support member, for steering, is situated aft and the mast is placed substantially vertically over the forward support members. The mast is positively mounted in the head of a rigid tripod and fixed with respect to the middle of the front cross-beam of the chassis. One foot of the tripod is mounted to the frame and the other feet to the lateral portions of the frame. The laterally mounted feet at their juncture with the frame form the axles upon which the wheels, pads or skis are mounted. This construction greatly increases manoeuvrability while reducing the overall weight of the apparatus for a given sail surface.
