  • Patent number: 4722699
Abstract: A connector for connecting sheathed electric wire (19) to a metal connector part (1) having a wire-stripping slot (2) and held fixedly in a housing in a body of insulating material (11) having a wire-passing opening running along the slot (2). The connector part includes a transverse cavity (10) disposed inside the housing, behind the slot (2) and facing the slot in such a manner as to serve as a fixed bearing point for an end piece (20) on the blade of a tool (17) which is used as a lever for inserting a wire into the slot and into the wire-passing opening by applying force thereto. The invention may be used to provide wire-stripping connections in the housings of electrical appliances.

  • Patent number: 4712863
Abstract: A junction block for end-to-end interconnection of two optical fibers, said block comprising two identical parts (1) assembled face-to-face and forming a block having a fiber-receiving duct (13) passing therethrough, said duct being built up from two half ducts each running along a corresponding one of said parts, said duct being suitable for receiving two fibers inserted into respective ends thereof, and for positioning the cores of said two fibers in end-to-end alignment inside a mid guide portion thereof (13E), and for holding said fibers in place by clamping their respective coatings inside two retaining members (13B1, 13B2) of the duct which are located adjacent to respective ends thereof and each of which is constituted by two half-members which are resiliently separable to enable a fiber to be connected to pass therethrough in order to properly position the core of said fiber for interconnection with the core of the other fiber.

  • Patent number: 4704659
Abstract: The invention relates to modular housings for electrical apparatus distributed between the aligned and superposed modules (1) of the housing, which modules are assembled by means of fixed transverse catches (3) and flexible longitudinal lugs (2) which are provided with catch-hooking windows (4). The catches (3) are each provided with an inlet slope facilitating lug sliding when the modules are stacked, they also include snap-fitting chamfers (14) enabling the modules to be reversibly hooked together, together with retaining ramps (7) enabling the modules to be positively locked together. The thrust rims (6) of the windows can pass from the snap-fitting chamfers (14) to the retaining ramps (7) only by applying external pressure to the free ends of the lugs so as to cause the lug material to creep.

  • Patent number: 4693542
Abstract: A connection, in particular of the miniature type for providing oblique connections at angles which may be selected over a wide range of angles on request. Said connections serving to put a conductor wire (3) into electrical connection with a conductor strip (4) of an electrical apparatus by gripping the wire between a wire-gripping surface (41) provided on the strip and a corresponding parallel, internal, wire-gripping surface (10) of a cage (1) which surrounds the strip, said grip being provided by the action of a clamping screw (2) screwed into the cage and bearing against the opposite surface of the strip from its wire-gripping surface. The clamping screw is disposed obliquely relative to the wire-gripping surfaces and its end presses directly on said opposite surface (22); the cage (1) includes at least one lateral screw-backing element (11) in the vicinity of the end (21) of the screw where it is pressed against the strip.

  • Patent number: 4586843
Abstract: A device for attaching an object to a wall comprises a body with a cylindrical head centrally disposed on a base. The head incorporates longitudinal elastic members terminating in hooks. These are adapted to engage on the edges of an opening in the wall into which the head is inserted. A clamping ring mounted on the head is movable along its length. A spring is disposed between the base of the body and the clamping ring. The force exerted by this spring is transmitted to the wall so as to lock the hooks on to the edges of the opening. Cooperating guide means on the clamping ring and on the body are adapted to guide the clamping ring as it moves along the head, simultaneously rotating. Cooperating locking means on the body and on the clamping ring are adapted to lock the clamping ring in a bottom position on the head.

  • Patent number: 4561712
Abstract: A versatile electric connector with an automatic stripper and additional gripping means. The electric connector (1) has at least one automatic stripper (2) associated with a gripping means (5) with paired lyre-shaped parts (5L, 5L') the bases of the two lyre-shaped parts of a pair (5LA, 5L'A) being parallel and face to face so as to allow a extra connection to be set up in any one of three perpendicular directions at the lyre-shaped parts.
