  • Patent number: 5019026
Abstract: An aligning device including an upward straightening appliance consisting of a row of levers equipped with rollers, said levers being mounted for pivoting around a horizontal axis relative to a base member, said base member being mounted for pivotable movement around a vertical axis on a longitudinally extending member, each of the base members being connected by a flexible member to a corner piece shiftable relative to the longitudinally extending member to cause pivoting of all of the base members around their vertical axes, a lower straightening appliance consisting of a driven endless belt supported on rollers arranged vertically aligned to the axes of the upper rollers, an arrangement for biasing the upper rollers against a blank carried on said belt and a lengthwise aligning rail adjustably positioned relative to the upper and lower straightening appliances.

  • Patent number: 4844436
Abstract: A device for feeding blanks from a pile into an infeed arrangement for a blank processing machine, such as a folder or gluer, characterized by a frame having a plurality of conveyor units with an arrangement for laterally positioning the units in the frame depending on the width of the blank being processed, an arrangement for driving each of the units utilizing a single drive shaft and an arrangement for driving each of the conveyor units for a selected period of time during each feed cycle.

  • Patent number: 4656815
Abstract: A method and device fills sheet-like blanks, such as folded box blanks, into a container on the edge of the blanks to form a stack or row therein. The method and device utilizes a feed unit for removing blanks from a flow of shingled blanks one at a time and inserting them into a conveyor which transports them to a filling unit that inserts them one at a time on edge in a row or stack in the container. The device includes a control arrangement including various sensors, one for determining the presence of blank at the filling unit, one for detecting of the position of a surface on which the blanks are being placed and one for determining a position of a side wall of the container.

  • Patent number: 4474521
Abstract: A device for receiving a flow of box blanks from a delivery end of a box blank processing apparatus and assembling a packet of two batches of box blanks in a head-to-tail arrangement characterized by a receiving or batch-forming station for forming the batches of folded blanks from the flow, transporting arrangement for transporting the formed batches from the receiving station to a delivery station with at least every other batch being rotated through 180.degree. so that at the receiving station the two batches can be superimposed with each other in a head-to-tail arrangement to form a packet which is then discharged to a second processing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4332124
Abstract: A device for delivering and packaging folded boxes, which are folded and glued in a folder-gluer, comprises a first conveyor for receiving a flow of folded boxes in an overlapping shingled relationship for a delivery station and conveying the flow of boxes without changing any lateral position of the boxes to a second conveyor at which the flow is converted into a stack-like flow moving in a direction perpendicular to the plane of the folded boxes. The second conveyor terminates in a filling device and a coacting intermittently driven roller. A third conveyor for introducing the positioning packaging containers is disposed beneath the second conveyor and is mounted for movement both transverse and along the direction of movement of the second conveyor and vertically thereto. The device also includes a removing conveyor which comprises a roller conveyor mounted for movement between a level position to a slant position to enable ejecting a filled container from the device by gravity.

  • Patent number: 3986441
Abstract: A method and apparatus for applying a reinforcing liner blank on a moving box blank and shifting the assembled blank into the desired position for a subsequent attachment together characterized by a first belt moving a box blank in one direction, a second belt moving a liner blank and guiding it into surface-to-surface engagement on the moving box blank and the belts coacting to move the box blank and with the liner engaged thereon and cooperating with a shifting device which moves the blanks relative to each other to the desired position prior to joining the blanks together. The shifting device includes at least one endless chain belt having an abutment for engagement by the leading edge of the box blank and a second abutment for engagement by the leading edge of the liner blank which abutments coact with the respective belts to cause slippage of their respective blank on the belt when the leading edge is engaged.
