  • Patent number: 6848524
Abstract: In a snowmobile or other vehicle, ventilation of ambient air to the engine compartment is necessary. However, from time to time when encountering deep snow or extremely cold temperatures, it may be necessary to restrict the inflow of ambient air into the engine compartment. An adjustable air vent having a sliding ventilation grill adjusts the air flow. The air vent has actuators for adjusting the air flow that are simple and easily manually operable by an operator even when wearing gloves or mittens without the need of any tools.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 19, 2002
Date of Patent: February 1, 2005
    Assignee: Bombardier Recreational Products Inc.
Inventors: Claude Vaillancourt, Ghyslain Bordeleau, Caroline Charbonneau, Jean-Pierre Boyer

  • Patent number: 5430823
Abstract: The cassette is mounted horizontally or vertically on a support rail and defines a front action face. One of its compartments is used for storing an excess length of optical cable while its other compartment is used for storing an excess length of optical jumper. The cassette includes a fixed first connection for the cable conductor and a removable cross-connection second connection for the jumper, said connections being mounted separately, substantially on the front action face, and being interconnected by an optical lead which is wound down together with the cable conductor and in the same compartment. The cassette is applicable to a distribution frame for telephones or computers.

  • Patent number: 5003138
Abstract: A medium-voltage electrical switch comprises contacts actuated by a connecting rod and crank system. Parallel to the main contacts there is arranged an arcing circuit comprising a cylindrical electrode disposed inside a coil and whose internal surface cooperates with a movable arcing contact. The mechanical link connecting the main contact to the arcing contact comprises a crank and connecting rod system comprising a flexible part formed by an aperture and a spring providing the contact pressure of the arcing contacts. In the open position of the switch, the connecting rod extends perpendicular to the crank and the flexible part is neutralized so as to hold the movable arcing contact without clearance in the open position despite the electrodynamic forces acting on it.

  • Patent number: 4987861
Abstract: The disclosure herein describes an apparatus which is adapted to be mounted adjacent to an entranceway for spraying animals passing through the entranceway. It comprises an inverted U-shaped tubular structure with an upper portion and opposite side portions, each portion including a vaporizing unit and connecting members each having one end received in the vaporizing unit of the upper portion and an opposite end portion in the vaporizing unit of an adjacent one of the side portions. A unit is mounted to the structure for detecting the presence of an animal in the entranceway and conduits extend in the connecting members and the vaporizing units for directing the spraying fluid from a remote reservoir to the vaporizing units.

  • Patent number: 4722585
Abstract: The support is constituted by a spool comprising a base (F), and outer wall (1) having openings (4) therethrough, an inner wall (2) having openings (5) therethrough, and at least one cylinder (3). An outer ring (A) between the inner and outer walls serves to store slack lengths of fiber-carrier, and an inner ring (B) between said inner wall and said cylinder(s) serves to store slack lengths of optical fiber together with connection devices (11) for interconnecting the fibers. Lugs are provided on the inner and outer walls and on the cylinder(s) in order to hold the fiber-carriers and the fibers in place while the supports are being manipulated. The cylinders may be provided with rotatable covers, in which case the cylinder lugs are fixed to the covers.
