  • Patent number: 7351034
Abstract: This invention relates to an impeller device for data acquisition in a flow. It comprises a support (3) with two bearing blocks (4.1, 4.2) to hold a spindle (2) around which the impeller (1) is fitted. The spindle (2) comprises two approximately conical ends (5). The bearing blocks (4.1, 4.2) are made from a material with the lowest possible coefficient of friction and each comprises an approximately conical recess (6) into which one of the ends (5) of the spindle (2) fit.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 25, 2003
Date of Patent: April 1, 2008
    Assignee: Schlumberger Technology Corporation
Inventors: Fabien Cens, Gilbert Galland, Jean-Pierre Chyzak
  • Patent number: 7301609
Abstract: The invention provides a measuring sonde (1) for a hydrocarbon well, the sonde comprising a main body (2), a downstream arm (3), and an upstream arm (5), at least one of said arms being fitted with measurement means (6) for determining the characteristics of the fluid flowing in the well; said downstream and upstream arms being connected to the main body respectively via first and second sliding pivot links (A and E).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 8, 2003
Date of Patent: November 27, 2007
    Assignee: Schlumberger Technology Corporation
    Inventors: Fabien Cens, Jean-Pierre Chyzak
  • Patent number: 7114386
Abstract: To acquire data such as the flow rate of various phases of a fluid flowing in a hydrocarbon well (12) in production, in particular in an inclined or horizontal portion of the well, both the local speed of the fluid and the proportions of the various phases are determined in each of at least two distinct regions of the well that are not in alignment with one another parallel to the axis of the well. The regions in which the measurements are taken are advantageously distributed in a vertical plane containing the axis of the well when the well is inclined or horizontal.

Date of Patent: October 3, 2006
    Assignee: Schlumberger Technology Corporation

  • Patent number: 6170570
Abstract: The invention provides a sinker bar for use with a hydrocarbon well apparatus connected to an operating cable through a cable head. The sinker bar includes a bar provided with a longitudinal slot. This slot is adapted to permit lateral engagement of the bar onto the cable, and to connect at one of its ends at the cable head. The bar may also be adapted to connect at its other end to a fishing head. The connection may be twist locked. The invention is applicable in particular with production logging apparatus.
