  • Patent number: 8784026
Abstract: A device for mounting a spoke (1) on a wheel rim or hub, includes a spoke (1) having a rod extending along an axis (X-X?) with one end (11) provided with an external thread (110). The threaded end is screwed inside the internal thread of a nut (2) mounted in an opening provided inside the rim or hub. At least part of the threaded end (11) of the spoke (1) screwed in the nut (2), is curved relative to the axis (X-X?), so as to increase the braking torque by direct friction of the nut (2) relative to the rod.

  • Patent number: 6189978
Abstract: A metal spoke for a cycle wheel having a tapered body and two ends respectively for the fastening to a hub and a rim. The tapered portion of the spoke is smooth and exempt from threading over its entire length; the spoke has at each of its ends an enlarged head; and a recessed fastening screw is mounted in free rotation between the two enlarged heads. The spoke is made from a light alloy shaped in the annealed state, then heat treated by tempering. The invention also relates to a wheel having a rim, a hub and spokes.

  • Patent number: 4947708
Abstract: A pedal for a bicycle has a front abutment of cylindrical configuration riving the front edge of a plate of a shoe of the cyclist. The lever engaging the rear edge of this plate is carried by a pivot piece which can pivot in the pedal body about an axis corresponding to the frontmost generatrix of the cylindrical surface of the abutment. A retention plate holds the interfitting pivot piece end annular pedal body together.
