  • Patent number: 5556488
Abstract: The invention relates to a tire formed of a plurality of independent pneuic sectors (S) intended to be mounted on a single rim (J) but removable individually from said rim (J), they being inflatable individually or together. The sectors (S) include at least one reinforcing armoring (4) anchored on at least one circumferential bead wire (10) in each circumferential bead, which is the bead mounted on the wheel rim (J), the reinforcing armoring (4) being radially adjacent to a reinforcement armoring (8) of the tread (2). The circumferential bead wires (10) are connected to meridian bead wires (11) located in the sidewalls (50) of the circumferentially adjacent sectors (S).

  • Patent number: 5211783
Abstract: A tire of the closed torus type is made solid with a rim due to bead wires hich hug a body tightly between themselves and the rim. At each lateral end of the rim, a shoulder is provided and extended by a seat. Diameter .phi..sub.s of the seat is always less than the shoulder diameter .phi..sub.c, and the shape of the bead wire assumes the shape of the rim over at least a 45.degree. sector.

  • Patent number: 5087103
Abstract: An auxiliary wheel is to be paired with a main wheel of a vehicle, while the main wheel remains on the vehicle. The auxiliary wheel includes a disk having a wheel rim, as well as a tire mounted on the wheel rim. In order to securely mount the auxiliary wheel on the main wheel, a bolt is insertable through a hole in the disk of the auxiliary wheel, the hole being eccentric with respect to the rotational center of the auxiliary wheel. An arcuate guide slot is formed in the auxiliary wheel disk, the guide slot forming an arc of a circle centered on the hole. A threaded rod fits into the slot and can be threaded into the main wheel, and tightened when the centers of the main and auxiliary wheels become concentric after mounting.

  • Patent number: 4922981
Abstract: Disclosed is a rim intended to form a safety unit with a tire and a body of oam rubber, which gives the tire the ability to roll in a deflated state. Lateral walls of a central groove receiving the body each include an undercut portion to retain the body effectively. The groove is delimited on opposite sides by lateral walls. The groove has an orifice formed therein for communication with atmospheric pressure.

  • Patent number: 4837553
Abstract: The transmission of an electric signal between a driving wheel and the vehicle exclusively by electric conduction requires the presence of two electrically conductive paths. One of the conductive paths includes suspended stationary elements and a bearing of the driving wheel. The end of the transmission is insulated from the ground and the part of the transmission not insulated from the ground is included in the other of the conductive paths.

  • Patent number: 4823107
Abstract: A device and electric circuit mounted on a wheel of a vehicle and to transmit via bearings an electrical signal for measurement of parameters such as the pressure and temperature of the tire. The measurement is made based on the conduction state of a semiconductor element coupled to a sensor sensing the tire pressure and/or temperature. Specifically observed are three resistances of sufficient different values: the resistance of a semiconductor element in the on-state, a resistance R.sub.o two orders of magnitude greater than the preceding one and the internal resistance of at least one semiconductor element in the off-state. The sensor and circuit ar integrated in a standard valve. In one embodiment, it is possible to operate an electric element mounted on the wheel.
