  • Patent number: 4134489
Abstract: The invention relates to a coupling device acting between to adjacent tubs of a scraping conveyor for mines in which each tub comprises two side members. The recesses for the abutment flanges, like the access openings, are laterally accessible. The retaining partition of the male connecting member is positioned behind the projecting portion of this member. The cross-section of the connecting spindle has dimensions which differ in at least two directions, which are preferably perpendicular to one another. As regards the partition, the width of the access opening of each connecting member is smaller than the maximum dimension, but greater than the minimum dimension of the spindle cross-section. The spindle locking means are arranged so as to prevent the spindle appearing in front of the opening in a position in which the small dimension of its cross-section coincides with the width of the said opening.

  • Patent number: 4133424
Abstract: The invention relates to connecting members for the ends of adjacent tubs of a scraper conveyor for the use in mines in which each tub comprises two side members. The supporting partition of each connecting member has a rear face serving as a support for one of the retaining flanges and extends transversely up to the corresponding side member or up to its extension. The supporting partition is located at the rear end of the projecting portion of the male member. The width of the lateral access opening for each partition is less than the maximum dimension of the cross-section of the corresponding locating slot of the partition. The junction zones between the lateral access opening and the locating slot at the partition constitute a lateral locking means for the connecting rods relative to the partition.

  • Patent number: 3987872
Abstract: A drum brake is provided with a liquid cooling circuit, wherein the rim is provided with a circuit for a cooling liquid, said circuit being on the one hand connected to a source of liquid under pressure and on the other hand opens outwardly on at least one of the faces of the rim. The invention avoids any excessive heating and subsequent deterioration of the brake band.

  • Patent number: 3976189
Abstract: A rigid support in the form of a plate rests on a part of the storage area in front of one side of a heap of material in the storage area. The support is positioned parallel to one side of the storage area and extends over the whole width and beyond the heap. At least one endless conveyor fixed rigidly on the support is arranged parallel to the longitudinal side of said support, with its ends also extending beyond the heap. A guiding and tipping ramp is mounted on the support in front of the lateral surface of the conveyor adjacent to the heap of materials to be handled. The height of the ramp is the same as the height of the support and of the conveyor and extends across the whole width of the heap. The support, and the different members mounted thereon, are moved or shifted in at least one direction perpendicular to the length of said conveyor and parallel to the storage area by a drive located outside of the storage area and operating on the support only at its ends.
