Patent number: 7149742Abstract: A system for remote database access is provided. The system includes an enterprise database that stores two or more sets of data. A data synchronizer receives one or more user-defined sets of data and generates one or more templates that define the relationship between the two or more sets of data in the enterprise database and the user-defined set of data. A remote data system receives the user-defined sets of data and receives user-entered data update. The data synchronizer receives the user-entered data update and maps the user-entered data update to the enterprise database using the templates.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2002Date of Patent: December 12, 2006Assignee: Informatics, Inc.Inventors: Gary Eastham, Brent Robertson, Jeff Woods

Publication number: 20060168561Abstract: A system is provided for allowing collaborative, web-enabled design of content for print on demand output. Categories of standardized products are provided, and upon selection of any particular product type a designer's choice will be utilized as a default which incorporates design selection categories including backgrounds, graphics, products, text boxes, headlines, logos, and text elements capable of manipulation. Previews are displayed in live, real time images incorporate low resolution equivalents of the final images. These low resolution images suffice for design decision, and allow such decisions to be communicated over the Internet(™) by any number of authorized users. At each element selection, as the preview is displayed so are selection thumbnails. Selection of alternate elements cause the preview to become interactive with the user, allowing true live manipulation of the active element(s). Position, content, and display elements can all be made active parameters.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2005Publication date: July 27, 2006Inventor: Jeff Wood

Publication number: 20050051166Abstract: An aerosolization apparatus comprises a housing defining a chamber having an air inlet and an air outlet, wherein the chamber is sized to receive a capsule containing a pharmaceutical formulation. A puncturing member is moveable within the chamber to contact the capsule and to provide an opening in the capsule, and a feedback mechanism provides an indication, such as a tactile indication, to a user when the puncturing member has been moved to a position where it provides the opening into the capsule. When air flows through the inlet, the pharmaceutical formulation is aerosolized and the aerosolized pharmaceutical formulation is delivered through the outlet.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2003Publication date: March 10, 2005Applicant: Nektar TherapeuticsInventors: Mark Glusker, Jeff Wood, John Burr

Publication number: 20040206350Abstract: An aerosolization apparatus comprises a body defining a chamber having an air inlet and an air outlet. The chamber is sized to receive a receptacle containing a pharmaceutical formulation in a manner which allows the receptacle to move within the chamber. The chamber comprises a longitudinal axis, and the chamber has a cross-section orthogonal to its longitudinal axis that is non-circular. When a user inhales, air enters into the chamber through the inlet to cause the receptacle to move within the chamber so that the pharmaceutical formulation exits through an opening in the receptacle and is aerosolized for delivery to the user through the outlet.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 14, 2003Publication date: October 21, 2004Applicant: Nektar TherapeuticsInventors: William W. Alston, Jeff Wood, John D. Burr, Mark Glusker

Publication number: 20040143546Abstract: A technique for activating electronic presentment of bills for a consumer by an electronic bill presentment service provider is provided. The service provider activates electronic presentment of bills of a first biller for a consumer. As a part of this activation, the service provider stores information identifying the consumer that is required for activation of electronic billing from the first biller. In a subsequent activation of electronic presentment of bills of a second biller for the consumer, the service provider determines that the stored consumer identifying information is necessary to activate electronic bill presentment of bills of the second biller. The service provider, instead of requesting the consumer to supply this information, retrieves the stored consumer identifying information an uses it in the activation relating to electronic presentment of bills of the second biller.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 1, 2002Publication date: July 22, 2004Inventors: Jeff A. Wood, Teri W. Bemis, Mark T. Harris, Donald K. Hobday, Hans D. Dreyer, Randal A. McCoy

Publication number: 20040088235Abstract: A technique for tailoring electronic commerce user interfaces for a consumer dependent upon from which of multiple electronic commerce sites the consumer requests access to an electronic commerce service is provided. A first consumer request for an electronic commerce service is received by an electronic commerce service provider from a first site. This first request includes both a consumer identifier and a site identifier. The identity of a first entity on whose behalf the electronic commerce service is provided by the service provider is determined based upon the site identifier. A first unique user interface is then selected dependent upon the site from which the first request is received. A second consumer request is received for the service from a second site. This second request includes the same consumer identifier and a different site identifier. The identity of a second entity on whose behalf the service provider provides the electronic commerce service is determined based upon the site identifier.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 1, 2002Publication date: May 6, 2004Inventors: William D. Ziekle, Jeff A. Wood, Donovan H. Williams, Ian A. Mercado, Randal A. McCoy, Sean J. Zito, David L. Odom, John J. Frech, Cathy E. Webber

Publication number: 20030192450Abstract: A system and method for improving the travel efficiency of a train that includes decoupling the last car from a moving train, guiding the last car onto an adjacent track and bringing the decoupled car to a stop. The system and method of the present invention may also be used to move a decoupled car from a stopped position to a primary track where the decoupled car may be coupled to a moving train.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 5, 2002Publication date: October 16, 2003Inventors: John Wood, Jeff Wood, Travis Wood

Patent number: 6346786Abstract: A system and method for moving a horizontally sliding portal closure includes a linear induction or a magnetic stepper motor and a reaction piece. The reaction piece is attached to the portal closure such that activation of the stationary mounted linear induction or magnetic stepper motor causes movement of the reaction piece which, in turn, opens or closes the portal closure.Type: GrantFiled: June 22, 2000Date of Patent: February 12, 2002Assignee: Linear Millenium Products, Inc.Inventors: John Wood, Jeff Wood

Patent number: 5237486Abstract: A metal frame is fabricated from magnesium alloy and all the main components of the computer, including the logic board, the hard disk drive, the keyboard, the upper and lower halves of the computer's case, and the pivoting display screen are all directly attached to the frame. The frame thus offers a method for constructing a personal computer which will have greatly improved shock resistance, integrated electromagnetic isolation, and structural strength, without increasing the weight of the completed computer in any significant fashion. Additionally, by means of a cooling flange fabricated as part of the frame, the central processing unit of the portable computer is thermally connected to the frame, which then acts as a heat-sink for the central processing unit, greatly improving its reliability.Type: GrantFiled: June 5, 1992Date of Patent: August 17, 1993Assignee: Apple Computer, Inc.Inventors: Brion LaPointe, David Northway, Robert Riccomini, Ken Weber, Jeff Wood
