  • Publication number: 20170362650
Abstract: The present invention provides, inter alia, methods and kits for identifying where a polypeptide of interest binds in a genome. The methods include a) carrying out a chromatin immunoprecipitation coupled to exonuclease digestion (ChIP-exo) process with an antibody against the polypeptide of interest; (b) extracting a polynucleotide fragment to which the polypeptide of interest binds; (c) carrying out a library preparation protocol adapted from an individual nucleotide resolution UV cross-linking and immunoprecipitation (iCLIP) process on the ChIP-exo processed polynucleotide fragment; and (d) sequencing the resulting polynucleotides. The kits include: (a) reagents sufficient to carry out ChIP-exo; (b) reagents sufficient to carry out the library preparation protocol adapted from the iCLIP process; and (c) instructions for use.

  • Patent number: 6890181
Abstract: Methods and systems for delivering multimedia learning modules to one or more students in a computer based education environment. The multimedia education system includes a host server, communication link connecting the host server to a remote computer, and software operable on the host server and remote computer. Methods include providing: a set of global knowledge/vocabulary words with high interest expository text and graphics; a contextual definition for at least one of the words; or an additional set of vocabulary words presented as a pair of synonyms for a new stimulus word. A method includes causing a student to select an appropriate synonym to replace the stimulus word based on another high interest expository text. A method includes providing a game scenario including a multisensory scenario, wherein the student must select an appropriate synonym or a pair of synonyms from a number of synonyms to complete a task in a game.

  • Patent number: 6491539
Abstract: An electrical plug retainer assembly 20 and method of use for the purpose of securing an electrical plug 40 and cord 38 set assembly to a wall mounted electrical plug receptacle 22 to prevent inadvertent or accidental removal of the plug 40 from the receptacle 22. The electrical plug retainer assembly 20 includes a support arm 46 attached to the receptacle assembly body 25 with a retention element 54 securing the plug 40 and cord 38 to the support arm 46 to resist pulling forces 70 exerted against the plug 40 and cord 38. Thus, preventing the pulling forces 70 from causing the undesirable result of disconnecting the plug 40 from the receptacle 22 with the resulting loss of electrical power.
