Abstract: A decorative pole antenna and method is disclosed which includes an elongated, dielectric core which is wrapped with a decorative, "Christmas paper" like film having a well defined reflective pattern. An attachment ferrule is attached to one end of the core and a tuning coil includes space winding wrapped over the decorative film terminating at adjacent windings at the second end of the core. A transparent film is then shrunk over the entire assembly whereby the decorative film imparts a highly visible reflective pattern to the antenna in use without affecting the electrical characteristics of the antenna.

Abstract: A unitary, multiband and dual polarity mobile antenna (A) is disclosed for vehicles and the like which includes a television antenna (B) having a horizontally polarized radiation pattern and a 2-way communications antenna (C) having a vertically polarized radiation pattern. A null current point (50) is created on communications antenna (C) by a phasing coil (34) which is intersected by a horizontal plane (52) in which television antenna (B) lies. This reduces cross-coupling, cross-polarization, and interference between the two antenna during operation. Horizontal television antenna (B) includes a J-folded, generally boomerang shaped, curved antenna configured to have a radiating element (20) and a half radiating element (22). These elements together form a third radiating element providing operation at three resonant frequencies.

Abstract: A bi-directional antenna array is disclosed having at least two vertical loop antennas arranged mutually perpendicular individually operable to produce bi-directional scanning patterns shifted ninety degrees to achieve significant side rejection so that a user can better utilize the congested frequency spectrum.

Abstract: A directional horizontal beam antenna is disclosed having a pair of driven circular loop elements mechanically coupled and carried closely adjacent one another in a vertical manner producing a directional signal which may be shifted between vertical and horizontal polarization wherein the circular loop elements are formed by a plurality of flexible straight sections having a unique construction.
