  • Patent number: 11400872
Abstract: A heat shield system for shielding sensors from heat includes a sleeve portion made of heat-insulating material and has a hollow shape sized and shaped to be wrapped about a pipe of the exhaust treatment system. The sleeve has a longitudinal slit and an opening formed through the sleeve. The opening is configured to receive a sensor. The system includes a collar portion made of heat-insulating material and includes a base part configured to attach to the sleeve portion and a collar enclosure that extends radially from the base part. The collar enclosure defines an open chamber configured to surround the sensor and shield the sensor from heat while permitting access to the sensor.
