  • Publication number: 20190308565
Abstract: An assembly including a housing, a pivot bracket, a sensor, a primary actuation mechanism, and a secondary actuation mechanism is disclosed. The pivot bracket is supported for rotation about a first axis relative to the housing between a first position and a second position. The sensor is supported for rotation with the pivot bracket. The primary actuation mechanism is supported for rotation about a second axis relative to the pivot bracket. The primary actuation mechanism is operable to apply a first torque on the pivot bracket about the first axis. The secondary actuation mechanism is operable to: (i) apply a second torque on the pivot bracket about the first axis when the pivot bracket is in the first position; and (ii) apply a third torque on the pivot bracket about the first axis when the pivot bracket is in the second position, the second torque being opposite the third torque.

  • Patent number: 10099629
Abstract: A closure assembly for a deployable sensor assembly is provided. The closure assembly includes a housing; a sensor disposed within the housing; a door supported by the housing; an actuation member operable between a first position and a second position; and an attachment mechanism. The door is movable between a closed position and an open position. The sensor is exposed when the door is in the open position. The actuation member moves the door from the closed position to the open position when moved from the first position to the second position and moves the door from the open position to the closed position when moved from the second position to the first position. The attachment mechanism is operable in a first state to couple the door for movement with the actuation mechanism and in a second state to decouple the door from the actuation mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20170370132
Abstract: A system for securing a tailgate to a vehicle body includes a housing secured to one of the tailgate and the vehicle body, the housing including a passageway. A projection is secured to the other of the tailgate and the vehicle body and is rotatably received by the housing in an attached state to rotatably attach the tailgate to the vehicle body and is separated from the housing in a detached state to permit removal of the tailgate from the vehicle body. The system also includes a locking mechanism operable in a locked state to block the passageway and prevent movement of the projection from the attached state to the detached state and an unlocked state opening the passageway to permit movement of the projection from the attached state to the detached state.

  • Publication number: 20170274869
Abstract: A lock assembly for locking a tailgate relative to a body assembly of a vehicle includes a coupling member, a carriage, a trunnion, and a catch. The carriage is rotatably disposed within the coupling member and includes a first aperture and a first slot. The trunnion is removably received by the carriage and includes a second aperture aligned with the first aperture. The catch is movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The catch is received by the first aperture and the second aperture in the locked position.
