  • Publication number: 20220334298
Abstract: The present invention relates to a polarization filter for ophthalmic lenses. The polarization filter comprises a mesogen layer coated onto a retardation film, either directly or through an adhesive layer. The present invention further discloses that the polarization filter formed by employing a thin film or sheet, having a defined level of retardation between the light source and the mesogen layer, for example, a cholesteric mesogen layer, the multilayered laminate structure demonstrates linear polarization of the light transmitted through the mesogen laminate structure, and, hence, can be used in ophthalmic lenses, e.g. spectacle or eyeglass lenses. The polarization filter enhances the performance by allowing transmission of the polarization filter closer to the theoretical maximum transmission.

  • Publication number: 20220297752
Abstract: The turning radius of a differentially steered vehicle towing a trailer is controlled when turning so that its turning radius is greater than a minimum allowable turning radius. The turning radius may be autonomously adjusted using a controller to monitor the instantaneous rotational speed differential between the driven wheels and increase or decrease the relative speed between the wheels when the instantaneous rotational speed differential exceeds a threshold rotational speed differential, indicating a turn which is too tight. Alternately, the turning radius may be controlled by the vehicle's operator, who receives a signal from the controller indicating that the vehicle's turning radius is less than the minimum allowable. The operator may then take action to enlarge the turning radius using manual controls.

  • Patent number: 11426897
Abstract: Buildings are constructed using the tilt-up technique from concrete elements that have contours that are at least partially curved. The concrete elements are made by casting in molds. • Patent number: 11343953
Abstract: A latch mechanism is used with agricultural equipment, such as a mower, for securing the header of the mower to the tongue during transport. A pivoting catch is mounted on the trail frame on which the header is mounted. A receiver for the catch is mounted on the tongue. During mower transport the catch is biased into engagement with the receiver by a first spring and secures the header to the tongue in a parallel orientation. When the mower configuration is changed to operational mode the catch is disengaged from the receiver using a second spring attached to the catch. A cable attaches the second spring to a wheel arm of a field wheel. Deployment of the field wheel into the operation mode draws the cable and second spring into tension, overcoming the biasing force of the first spring and pivoting the catch out of engagement with the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20210325570
Abstract: An ophthalmic article having a coating system which provides antireflective, easy clean and anti-fogging properties to the ophthalmic article. The coating system includes alternating layers of low refractive index and high refractive index metal oxides and a sol-gel based hydrophilic top layer formed of one or more silanes, one or more alcohols, DI water and itaconic acid. The coating system provides favorable surface energy and particle size distribution to the ophthalmic article when the sol-gel based top layer is deposited on top surface of the alternating layers of low refractive index and high refractive index metal oxides.

  • Patent number: 11097775
Abstract: For a vehicle having left and right powered front wheels and a rear axle having left and right casters, with at least one of the casters being steerable, the steering angle of the steerable caster is controlled when the vehicle is stationary and executing a direction orientation maneuver prior to transitioning to a turn. The rotations of the steerable caster and at least one of the left and right wheels may be autonomously adjusted using a controller. The controller rotates the steerable caster about a caster axis in a direction consistent with the direction of the turn through a steering angle proportion to the magnitude of the turn, and rotates at least one of the left and right wheels to turn the vehicle in a direction consistent with the direction of the turn and in proportion to the magnitude of the turn.

  • Publication number: 20210234867
Abstract: A node of a network receives account access information (AAI) for an account that a user has with a system. The node causes a first record to be added to a distributed ledger that is used for managing access to the account, wherein the first record includes the AAI or an encrypted storage identifier that identifies a storage location for the AAI. The node determines a likelihood that the account is being accessed by the user based on the AAI and/or historical AAI for one or more accounts, that include the account, that are used to access the system. The node causes a second record that includes a value representing the likelihood to be added to the distributed ledger. The node causes one or more other nodes of the network to be alerted that the first record and the second record have been added to the distributed ledger.

  • Publication number: 20210216320
Abstract: Heterogeneous memory management and services. A memory metadata service obtains memory configuration information that identifies one or more sharable load-store memory segments available on each of a plurality of computing devices. The memory metadata service generates a memory metadata repository that comprises memory metadata that identifies, for each computing device of the plurality of computing devices, the one or more sharable load-store memory segments available on the computing device and, for each sharable load-store memory segment, a memory size of the sharable load-store memory segment and at least one memory attribute. The memory metadata service receives, from a first requesting computing device, a first memory allocation request that requests a first quantity of load-store memory. The memory metadata service sends, to the first requesting computing device, memory allocation information that identifies a first sharable load-store memory segment based on the memory metadata repository.
