  • Patent number: 9931906
Abstract: A cab for a machine. The machine has a longitudinal axis extending between a front, and a back opposite to the front. The cab includes a roof and a floor extending generally about the longitudinal axis. A vertical seat index axis extends through intermediate portions of the roof and the floor and is associated with a position of the operator disposed to face the front. The vertical seat index axis intersects perpendicular to the longitudinal axis at an intersection. A plurality of support members are disposed between the roof and the floor, including a rear support member disposed at a rear end of the cab. At least an upper portion of the rear support member is positioned at an angle relative to the intersection at an angle along the longitudinal axis and defines a rear view opening to facilitate rear end visibility of the machine.

  • Publication number: 20180001754
Abstract: A cabin assembly may comprises a door assembly comprising an outer surface, an inner surface, and a seal. The cabin assembly may further comprise a cabin frame comprising hinge assemblies pivotably coupling the door assembly to the cabin frame and a seal surface defining an opening into the cabin frame. The seal surface may contact and compress the seal of the door when the door assembly is in a closed position. The seal surface may include an angled seal surface that is provided at an angle with respect to the inner surface of the door assembly. The angled seal surface may be located proximate to the hinge assemblies. The angled seal surface may prevent a portion, of the seal of the door, from being compressed above a threshold when the door assembly is in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 9550407
Abstract: A roof for a cab of a machine includes a roof surface with a rearward incline having a front portion higher than a rear portion. The roof surface has a recessed portion at the rear portion that receives a Heating Ventilation and Cooling (HVAC) unit. The recessed portion includes a rearward facing sidewall with a rearward incline, such that an upper end of the rearward facing sidewall is closer to the front portion than a lower end. The rearward facing sidewall has a lateral opening, a pair of lateral sidewalls, and a base with a rearward incline, such that a front end of the base is higher than a rear end. The base has an upright opening with a ridge protruding upward, defining a perimeter of the upright opening. The rearward facing sidewall, the pair of lateral sidewalls, and the base, define a contiguous peripheral portion of the recessed portion.
