Abstract: Easy open flow wrappers are provided that include a flexible wrapper body formed from a flexible wrapper body film, the flexible wrapper body having a front panel and a back panel sealed together along one longitudinal seam and two lateral end seams containing a product therein. At least one line of weakness (24) substantially extends around a portion of the flexible wrapper body to define a removable portion (28) of the flexible wrapper body, such that application of a separation force upon the removable portion separates the removable portion from the flexible wrapper body at the at least one line of weakness and forms an opening in the flexible wrapper body. A flexible film member (26) is disposed over and extending beyond the at least one line of weakness, in which the flexible film member is configured to prevent pre-separation of the removable portion from the flexible wrapper body.

Abstract: Metallized water-marked films and methods of manufacture thereof are provided. The metallized water-marked films include at least a base substrate, a coating layer in the form of one or more markings that are each substantially free of pigment on at least a first portion of a first surface of the base substrate, and a metallized layer disposed over the coating layer and at least a portion of a second portion of the first surface of the base substrate. Packages for containing a product therein, methods for making the packages, and methods for packaging a product that employ the metallized water-marked films are also provided. Also provided are rolls of film for forming a package that include the metallized water-marked films.

Abstract: Recloseable packages for containing a product therein are provided that include a flexible container having a front side and a back side sealed together along at least one longitudinal seam and two lateral end seams, and a flexible film member having opposed ends permanently adhered to the flexible container. At least a portion of the flexible film member being configured to releasably secure between the permanently adhered opposed ends of the flexible film member one of the two lateral end seams of the flexible container subsequent to opening one of the two lateral end seams. Also disclosed are methods of fabricating and using the recloseable packages provided, as well as a flexible film for forming such packages.

Abstract: An easy open package is provided including a package body formed from a flexible film having a pair of transverse end seals and a longitudinal seal generally therebetween. The longitudinal seal includes a sealed region between a first longitudinal edge portion of the flexible film sealed to a second longitudinal edge portion of the flexible film. A tear strip and pull tab formed in the package body are configured such that initiation of a tear by pulling the pull tab in one direction causes controlled tearing of the flexible film along the line of weakness defining the tear strip. Flexible films and methods for fabrication of the flexible films and packages also are provided.
