  • Patent number: 9457841
Abstract: A vehicle and drive system control method for a vehicle including first and second traction elements coupled to the vehicle, a variable displacement pump, a bi-directional variable displacement first motor coupled to the first traction element, and a bi-directional second motor coupled to the second traction element. The pump, and first and second motors are coupled fluidly in series with one another. A control unit can determine a desired speed for the traction elements, and determine pump, first and/or second motor displacements based on the desired speed. First and second speed sensors can sense output speeds of the motors, and the pump, first and/or second motor displacements can be determined based on the motor output speeds. Articulation and steering sensor signals can also be used to determine pump, first and/or second motor displacements.

  • Publication number: 20090305436
Abstract: The invention provides a device (10) for detection and providing an indication of the concentration of a single pregnancy associated hormone (especially hCG), comprising a matrix (16) defining an axial flow path, the matrix comprising: (i) a sample receiving zone (18) at the upstream end of the flow path, for receiving a fluid sample; (ii) a plurality of test zones (22) positioned within the flow path and downstream from the sample receiving zone (18), wherein each test zone is capable of detecting a different concentration of hormone compared with an adjacent test zone; and (iii) an indicator (26) for recording a previous hormone concentration recorded by the same or a previous device. The devices are especially useful to give an indication of a miscarriage or non-natural termination. Methods of using the assay devices are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20060141639
Abstract: Methods and devices for the detection and/or quantification of an analyte in a sample are provided. These are positive detection methods and devices, in that the more analyte is present in the sample, the stronger the signal that is provided. Devices of the invention include a mobilization zone including a mobile or mobilizable detectable analyte analog, a sample application area, primary and secondary capture areas each including an immobilized binding partner having a binding affinity for the analyte being tested for a detectable analyte analog. The mobilization zone, sample application area, primary and secondary capture area are in fluid continuous contact with each other. In these devices, the first immobilized binding partner has an equal or lower apparent affinity for the analyte than it has for the detectable analyte analog.

  • Publication number: 20060116777
Abstract: The work memory of a programmable logic controller (PLC) is loaded with only one instruction at a time from the PLC's load memory which contains the entire instruction set to control a process. Each instruction has a format which contains at least one option code which must be evaluated to be true by the PLC interpreter before the corresponding instruction can be executed. If the interpreter evaluates the at least one option code to be false, the instruction is not executed and the next instruction is transferred from the load memory to the work memory and its corresponding option codes are then evaluated.

Abstract: A sample collection and testing system comprises a collection device and a core device. The collection device comprises a main body and a number of interchangeable sampling apparatuses. The core device comprises a sample distributor and a number of independent testing strips that can simultaneously perform different tests on the same sample. Vents are provided to enhance wicking of sample through the test strips. In addition, a sample retention chamber or pocket is provided to maintain an unadulterated portion of the sample for subsequent retesting or confirmatory testing, for instance.

  • Patent number: 6099655
Abstract: A wet chemical process for removing an abrasive oxide coating from the surface of a rotating turbine engine component, such as a tooth that forms a rotating air seal with a complementary sealing member. The process generally entails subjecting the coating to a caustic solution at an elevated pressure. The caustic solution is preferably a mixture of water and a base, such as sodium or potassium hydroxide, with the addition of an organic compound being a preferred constituent in a sufficient amount as a solvent media for the caustic solution. A suitable caustic solution contains the base and water at a ratio of about one to one (1:1). If present, the organic compound may constitute about one to about ninety-eight weight percent of the solution. The process is preferably carried out in an autoclave charged with the caustic solution.
