  • Patent number: 4739460
Abstract: A recessed remodeling light fixture adapted for mounting in an opening within a ceiling includes a cylindrical housing having a wall and an open end. The wall has a pair of opposed and aligned elongated slots disposed above the open end. A pair of spring clips is disposed in the slots and inside the housing during shipping and prior to installation. The clips are adapted to rotate outwardly for securing the housing above the ceiling in an installed position. Each of the clips has a wide body portion, a narrow leg member, and a foot portion. The leg member has a first bend adjacent the body portion and a second bend adjacent the foot portion so as to form a partial loop.

  • Patent number: 4733339
Abstract: A clip for retaining a light canister in a ceiling includes a bendable leg member which is positionable between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the canister is insertable into a hole in a ceiling and in the second position, the bendable leg member is moved away from the canister so as to retain the canister within the ceiling. A brace member extends between the bendable leg member and the canister to retain the bendable leg member in its second position.

  • Patent number: 4232361
Abstract: An adjustable light fixture recessible in a ceiling for directing light at various angles includes a housing with a lamp assembly mounted therein. The lamp assembly comprises a reflector having a conventional bulb socket attached pivotally to a plate having spaced apertures. Resilient tracks, mounted at one end to the base of the housing are received in the apertures provided in the plate, rendering the plate slidable along such tracks. The tracks are each provided with a series of protrusions engagable with rollers each of which are mounted on the plate adjacent the spaced apertures to form a series of overcenter arrangements whereby the position of the plate and the lamp assembly may be adjusted. Stops are provided at the free end of each track to limit the movement of the lamp assembly therealong. However, the stops may be bypassed to permit complete removal of the lamp assembly from the housing.
