Publication number: 20240118372Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for recording time, latitude, longitude, frequency, and amplitude data to ascertain information about the radio frequency (RF) environment (e.g., RF emitter locations), where the apparatus is also easily transportable. The location determination method using this simple hardware solution may occur in two processes or phases: (1) a data collection phase; and (2) a data processing phase, although these two phases may also be combined in time for a real time solution. During the data collection phase, a user may select a desired frequency range and step size for analysis. A software defined radio (SDR) sweeps through the desired frequencies and records the amplitude associated with each frequency. Each of the recorded points are stamped with their time and geolocation (i.e., latitude and longitude coordinates) and processed using amplitude measurements to ascertain the locations of unknown emitters.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 28, 2023Publication date: April 11, 2024Applicant: The United States of America, as represented by the Secretary of the NavyInventors: Ryan Loehrlein, Timothy Ringwald, Kimberly Gold, Jeffrey A. Patent number: 11841109Abstract: A method using a specially configured computer display support structure reduces occurrences of medical errors by facilitating real-time, synchronous review of medical data by rounding professionals during patient rounds. The support structure includes an upright column assembly that has a column assembly base and six sides. Mounting brackets fixed to non-contiguous sides of the column assembly receive back plates of a system device mounting assembly, each of which includes a pivot arm that receives a system device arm. The system device arm is pivotable at opposing ends and terminates in a coupling member at its distal end. The coupling member is connected to a video display that has an angularly positionable display screen. In some embodiments, a keyboard tray, on which a keyboard and computer mouse rest, is connected to the coupling member.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2020Date of Patent: December 12, 2023Assignee: Oregon Health & Science UniversityInventors: Jeffrey A Gold, Vishnu Mohan

Patent number: 8199164Abstract: A method and apparatus for performing multisampling-based antialiasing in a system that includes first and second graphics processing unit (GPUs) that reduces the amount of data transferred between the GPUs and improves the efficiency with which such data is transferred. The first GPU renders a first version of a frame using a first multisampling pattern and the second GPU renders a second version of a frame in the second GPU using a second multisampling pattern. The second GPU identifies non-edge pixels in the second version of the frame. The pixels in the first version of the frame are then combined with only those pixels in the second version of the frame that have not been identified as non-edge pixels to generate a combined frame.Type: GrantFiled: September 22, 2009Date of Patent: June 12, 2012Assignee: ATI Technologies ULCInventors: Raja Koduri, Gordon M. Elder, Jeffrey A. Golds

Publication number: 20060242694Abstract: A system includes a plurality of collector devices that are disposed to collect statistical information on packets that are sent between nodes on a network. The system also includes a stackable aggregator that receives network data from the plurality of collector devices, and which produces a connection table that maps each node on the network to a record that stores information about traffic to or from the node. The stackable aggregator includes a manager blade, a database blade, and two or more, analyzer blades.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2005Publication date: October 26, 2006Inventors: Jeffrey Gold, Daniel Weber

Patent number: 6766348Abstract: A method and system for allocating distributed resources connected to a computer network to application programs running on computers attached to the communications network. The distributed resource allocator system comprises a number of identical processes running on one or more computers attached to the communications network. Application programs request allocation of resources from a local distributed resource allocator system process running using a resource allocator applications programming interface. Application programs request allocation of resource from a remote distributed resource allocator system process via a resource allocator access protocol. The distributed resource allocator system is fault-tolerant and provides contention control and load balancing. The resource allocator system also manages information about the capacities and capabilities of resources connected to the communications network.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1999Date of Patent: July 20, 2004Assignee: WorldCom, Inc.Inventors: Charles Combs, Jeffrey Gold, Brian Mair, David Pedersen, David Schear

Patent number: 6665701Abstract: A method and system for resolving contending requests for resources connected from a computer network by application programs running on computers attached to the communications network. Contending resource requests are first resolved by the priority of the resource request. If contention cannot be resolved by priority alone, then contentions are next resolved by examining the resource request's time of arrival in light of its priority.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1999Date of Patent: December 16, 2003Assignee: WorldCom, Inc.Inventors: Charles Combs, Jeffrey Gold, Brian Mair, David Pedersen, David Schear

Patent number: 6523065Abstract: A method and system for allocating distributed resources connected to a computer network to application programs running on computers attached to the communications network. The distributed resource allocator system provides a means for the entry of new resources and new resource class and characteristics information in a shared directory. The resource allocator system also manages information about the capacities and capabilities of resources connected to the communications network.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 1999Date of Patent: February 18, 2003Assignee: WorldCom, Inc.Inventors: Charles Combs, Jeffrey Gold, Brian Mair, David Pedersen, David Schear
