  • Patent number: 8555571
Abstract: A skylight with displacement absorber and interlocking telescoping tubes is provided. The displacement absorber may be expandable, compressible, and bendable. The displacement absorber may absorb thermal expansion and contraction displacement between the skylight assembly relative to the building in which it is installed, as well as mechanical compression displacement from forces upon the building roof. The interlocking telescoping tubes may provide for telescopic adjustment of the length of the tube assembly. Also provided is a collar for securement to the building roof, the collar optionally including a condensation collection gutter. The skylight may also include a top elbow, adjustable for angular orientation of the light tubes depending from it. A lower adaptor box is also provided, for adapting from the cross-sectional geometry of the displacement absorber to desired cross-sectional geometries of interior ceiling diffusers.

  • Patent number: 5779852
Abstract: An applicator for use in applying labels adhered to a release liner, the labels being in the form of a roll. The applicator comprises a body having a trigger and a roll holder for supporting the rolled release liner, an indexer for positioning label formats of varying pitch in the applicator and stripping labels from the release liner, an applicator assembly for applying the labels which were positioned by the indexer, and a friction drive responsive to the trigger for advancing the release liner through the applicator assembly. The friction drive includes a self-adjusting tensioner which includes a drive slip which allows the drive to slip when the label is correctly positioned by the indexer in the applicator. The drive slip includes a slip means for allowing the drive to slip when the label is correctly positioned, enabling the largest pitch label to be completely stripped from the release liner.

  • Patent number: 5534836
Abstract: A deactivator for use in an electronic article surveillance system has a housing having a first receptacle containing a deactivator for deactivating a theft-deterrent marker carried on an object such as a compact disk case, an audio cassette case or a video cassette case. The first receptacle is made up of a base, a first wall and a second wall, the walls being spaced apart such that an object carrying the theft-deterrent marker can be placed between the walls. The first wall is slidable relative to the second wall. The housing also has a second receptacle with a deactivator for deactivating a theft-deterrent marker carried on a generally rectangular object such as an audio cassette box having a top and a bottom, first and second sides and first and second ends, the marker being carried by one of the sides or one of the ends. The device comprises a housing having a receptacle comprising first, second and third walls arranged so as to form three sides of a box.
