  • Patent number: 9020202
Abstract: A method for determining a position using digital pixel data includes receiving pixel data from a position sensor device at a controller, sorting the received pixel data into pixel banks using the controller, identifying a maximum bank, a close bank, and a far bank using the controller, calculating a close to max ratio using a first equation and a max to far ratio using a second equation using the controller, and determining a position based on said close to max ratio and said far to max ratio.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 8, 2012
Date of Patent: April 28, 2015
    Assignee: Masco Canada Limited
    Inventor: Jeffrey John Belz
  • Patent number: 8841879
Abstract: A method of charging a battery at multiple charges rates includes determining a type of power source connected to a charging circuit and determining a voltage of a battery to be charged by the power source. A desired charging voltage is determined in response to the power source type and the battery voltage. A difference between the desired charging voltage and the battery voltage is determined. A digital potentiometer is selectively commanded to adjust the desired charging voltage to vary the difference and alter a charging rate of the battery, such that the difference is increased to increase the charging rate or is decreased to decrease the charging rate.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 23, 2014
    Assignee: Masco Canada Limited
    Inventor: Jeffrey John Belz
