The controller is configured to play music data sets selected by a user and to store local affinity data uploadable to the network. The controller is further configured to store network popularity and affinity data received from the network. The controller causes the display to present menus and screens based on the data received from the network. The controller is also configured to perform searches over multiple identification categories and store collections of music data sets based on multiple identification categories.

Abstract: Systems and methods of managing entertainment content on a computer jukebox are provided in which, in exemplary embodiments, a digital file is transferred from a data center to a temporary cache in a digital memory of the computer jukebox in response to a user selection and the file is transferred from the temporary cache to a local file in the digital memory according to predetermined criteria. Also provided is a system and method of managing entertainment content on a computer jukebox in which, in one embodiment, the least popular albums are removed from the digital memory of the computer jukebox if the digital memory has reached a predetermined memory limit and a predetermined number of the most popular albums not already in the digital memory are added to the digital memory.

Abstract: Systems and methods for updating registration information for a computer jukebox are provided. The registration system and methods provide updated information for registration or authorization of a jukebox to a central computer after the occurrence of a pre-selected event (e.g., changing MAC address, changing the hard drive, memory, or Central Processing Unit (CPU)). The invention reduces or eliminates the need for the owner or operator of a jukebox to contact the owner or operator of the network in order to provide updated registration information following the occurrence of a pre-selected event.

Abstract: Systems and methods for quick song selection on any of a plurality of networked, digital jukeboxes is provided. The Quick Pick feature provides for efficient song selection for a jukebox user preferably using a set of the most popular songs on a particular jukebox machine. Preferably, the system and method allow a user to browse or select songs to play at a digital jukebox in an efficient manner, without the need for a user to know the title or artist of the song in advance of making a selection.

Abstract: A song data downloading system and method of dispensing music are provided for use with a music data server and a musical jukebox. A song selection device and a control are provided. The control is operable to receive a user selection of particular song data with the song selection device. The user selection is made from compact disk song data or downloaded song data. The compact disk song data is from a compact disk that is in the compact disk storage and retrieval system of the jukebox. The downloaded song data is downloaded from a music data server. The control provides the selected song data to the music production system of the jukebox for producing audio from the selected song data. The control discards downloaded song data upon producing audio from the downloaded song data.
