  • Publication number: 20060279779
Abstract: A printer which is configured to automatically transmit data, such as critical and non-critical printer data, and route that data through at least one of a plurality of communication channels and services, such as via e-mail or mobile wireless equipment (e.g. an Internet-ready pager, a Personal Communications Service (PCS) phone or a wireless Personal Digital Assistant (PDA)). Preferably, the printer is configured such that it can be programmed and controlled from a remote location. Preferably, the printer is configured such that new label formats can be added from a remote location, and label formats stored in the printer can be viewed and modified from a remote location. Preferably, the printer is also configured such that barcode rendering algorithms can be downloaded to the printer from a remote location, and such that printer settings can be viewed and modified from a remote location, and thereafter can be downloaded to the printer and/or to other printers in a network to facilitate cloning.

  • Publication number: 20050140479
Abstract: A latching mechanism for a movable member mounted for movement between first and second positions. The latching mechanism includes a primary latching mechanism mounted for movement between a latched position where the primary latching mechanism engages the movable member to allow the movable member to move between the first and second positions, and an unlatched position where the movable member is disengaged for movement to the second position. A secondary latching element engages the first latching mechanism to hold the primary latching mechanism in the latched position, the secondary latching element being movable to move the primary latching mechanism to the unlatched position while remaining in engagement with the primary latching mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5557512
Abstract: An electronic system for entering and analyzing data relating to at least one attribute of an object includes a data entry means displaying a pictorial image of the object and providing a plurality of first indicia for identifying a location of the attribute in the object, and a plurality of additional indicia for identifying a parameter of the attribute. The data identifying the attribute are entered in the system when one of the first indicia in combination with at least one of the additional indicia are activated. A controlling means within the data entry means controls the data entry means in response to the entered data, which are processed by a processing means.
