  • Patent number: 7809335
Abstract: A technique includes based on a processing time that is available to a wireless device during an upcoming time interval, selectively enabling and disabling logging by the wireless device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 29, 2005
Date of Patent: October 5, 2010
    Assignee: ST-Ericsson SA
Inventors: Jeffrey L. Yiin, Shaojie Chen
  • Patent number: 7512157
Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention includes a method for determining a level of a buffer that stores data samples. The level may be determined at a predetermined position of a data frame sequence. Based on the level of the buffer at this position, a vocoder and modem of a mobile station may be synchronized. One or both of the vocoder and modem may be adjusted to attain the synchronization. Thus a rate mismatch between the vocoder and modem may be resolved.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 15, 2005
Date of Patent: March 31, 2009
    Assignee: ST Wireless SA
Inventors: David O. Anderton, Jeffrey L. Yiin
  • Patent number: 7227484
Abstract: A technique includes providing a butter to receive data from a processor of a wireless device in response to an active mode of the processor and selectively coupling an input terminal of a filter to the buffer based on a status of the buffer. The techniciue may be used with a wireless system that includes a digital signal processor, a buffer, a wireless interface and a switch. The buffer receives data from the digital signal processor in response to an active mode of the digital signal processor. The switch selectively couples a terminal of the wireless interface to the buffer in response to a determination of a status of the buffer.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: June 5, 2007
    Assignee: NXP, B.V.
Inventors: David O. Anderton, Jeffrey L. Yiin, Xue-Mei Gong
  • Patent number: 6853246
Abstract: An adaptive predistortion system for use with a power amplifier having a nonlinear amplification characteristic and a method of adaptively predistorting a signal is provided. In one embodiment, the adaptive predistortion system includes a coefficient update subsystem coupled to an output of the power amplifier and configured to update a set of predistortion coefficients using an iterative process based on an output signal of the power amplifier. Additionally, the adaptive predistortion system includes a predistortion filter subsystem coupled to the coefficient update subsystem and configured to employ the set of predistortion coefficients to reduce a level of distortion associated with the nonlinear amplification characteristic.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 18, 2002
Date of Patent: February 8, 2005
    Assignee: Agere Systems Inc.
Inventors: Ruediger Bauder, Young M. Kim, Qing Yan, Jeffrey L. Yiin
