Abstract: The specification describes an enhanced reality visual interface in the form of smart eyeglasses that view, process, and project desired visual information to a user's field of view. High resolution picture elements or super-pixels are used to create an enhanced image for a user, based on the user's actual visual acuity and the desired enhanced image. Generated signals are delivered to the eye in a manner that image processing is carried out by the user's brain.

Abstract: Methods for preparing layered semiconductor structures are disclosed. The methods may involve pretreating an ion-implanted donor wafer by annealing the ion-implanted donor wafer to cause a portion of the ions to out-diffuse prior to wafer bonding. The donor structure may be bonded to a handle structure and cleaved without re-implanting ions into the donor structure.

Abstract: A windowless microbolometer for use in terrestrial applications and non-terrestrial applications is provided. The windowless microbolometer array may interact with a flow of gas such that a pixel-based image of the gas is generated when the flow of gas impinges upon the windowless microbolometer array. The windowless microbolometer array may also interact with a molecular beam to provide information related to density, shape, and propagation of the molecular beam.

Abstract: Described herein are methods and devices for the long term treatment of ophthalmic disorders. Also disclosed are encapsulated cell therapy (ECT) devices that secrete a biologically active molecule and methods for using the same for the treatment of various kinds of ophthalmic disorders, including retinitis pigmentosa, geographic atrophy (dry age-related macular degeneration), glaucoma and/or macular telangiectasia.

The input device is configured to capture images and playback video, while the toy target marker is configured for image capture and video playback. The controller is coupled to the input device for manipulation of video and graphics such that when one or more toys contained in a real world environment, are manipulated, the toys are augmented, using computer-generated sensory input and a manipulated toy image is created.

Abstract: A control method includes monitoring changes in torque produced by a traction motor when an excitation frequency of current supplied to the traction motor changes, determining if the torque produced by the traction motor decreases when the excitation frequency of the current supplied to the traction motor increases, and responsive to the torque produced by the traction motor decreasing when the excitation frequency increases, preventing the excitation frequency of the current supplied to the traction motor from increasing further.

Abstract: A method of removing a hydrocarbon compound from boron powder for a physical intermixture. A boron powder and hydrocarbon compound physical intermixture is provided. The physical intermixture is placed onto an inert container of one of quartz or ceramic, and placing such into an enclosed space. The environment of the space is altered to create an oxygen-lessened atmosphere and then heated to an elevated temperature of between 350° C. and 600° C. The method includes vaporizing at least some the hydrocarbon compound as a physical removal of the hydrocarbon compound from the boron powder at the elevated temperature and within the oxygen-lessened atmosphere. In one example, the remaining hydrocarbon compound is not more than about 0.1 weight percent of soluble residue.

Abstract: A control method comprises determining wheel creep of a wheel operably coupled to a traction motor and limiting a rate of change of an excitation frequency applied to the traction motor to drive the wheel, based on the determined wheel creep. According to one aspect, the rate of change of the excitation frequency is limited if the wheel creep exceeds a wheel creep threshold.

Abstract: A hybrid fiber/copper connector assembly which permits repair of damaged fibers or copper conductors carried by a hybrid fiber/copper cable without requiring replacement of the entire connector assembly or the cable is disclosed. The hybrid fiber/copper connector assembly disclosed also allows individual hybrid fiber/copper connectors of the assembly to be converted from one gender to a different gender. The hybrid fiber/copper connectors of the assembly include removable keying members mountable to housings of the connectors. The removable keying members allow gender conversion and proper mating and orientation. The hybrid fiber/copper connector assembly also allows the individual connectors of the assembly to be converted from being hybrid fiber/copper connectors to being only fiber connectors or only copper connectors.

Abstract: A system and method for transmitting information related to items offered for sale at a market lace location includes reviewing a first video stream to identify items displayed in the first video stream which correspond to the items offered for sale at the marketplace location, and generating a second video stream related to and including images of the items for sale at the, marketplace location. The method further includes causing the transmission of the second video stream to a user through a media outlet and receiving a purchase request from the user for at least one item offered for sale at the marketplace location and included in the first or second video stream.
