  • Patent number: 5505130
Abstract: A multi-color ink pad assembly with end user configurable pad/plate assemblies. The pad/plate assemblies comprise an absorbent pad impregnated with ink attached to a rigid mounting plate. Attachment means are provided which engage the mounting plate to attach the pad/plate assemblies onto a base such that the user may manually remove and reattach the the pad/plate assemblies to the base in any number of configurations. The end user thus has tremendous flexibility in constructing multi-color inking surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5431098
Abstract: An apparatus for applying ink to an image on an ink stamp. The apparatus comprises an ink-impregnated sponge having side walls that intersect at a first end, where an angle between the side walls is acute at the first end. The side walls are so curved that: (a) a user can see the first end while bringing the sponges into contact with the image; and (b) the likelihood that ink will be applied to an undesired portion of the image is decreased.

  • Patent number: 5313885
Abstract: A hand held apparatus for stamping ink images on paper, comprising a handle, which is substantially transparent, a printing die, which is able to bold ink on a printing surface thereof, and an attachment means by which said printing die is able to be detachably attached to the handle. The printing surface comprises a resilient, opaque substance, such as natural rubber.

  • Patent number: 4817526
Abstract: A printing device for printing a continuous strip of indicia. The printing device comprises a housing defining a handle and an operating end portion. The operating end portion defines a print wheel cavity adapted to carry a print wheel with an outer circumferential printing surface for rotation about a wheel axis. An inking assembly comprising an ink housing and an inking roller is moveable between a first forward position where the inking roller is in contact with the print wheel and a second retracted position where the inking roller is spaced from the print wheel. A spring is mounted in the housing which is adapted to urge the inking roller toward the first forward position and releasable retaining structure positioned on the ink housing is adapted to hold the inking assembly in the second retracted position.
