  • Patent number: 10798346
Abstract: In described examples, a method includes: receiving an array of image data pixels for display by a spatial light modulator; dividing the array of image data pixels into a plurality of blocks. For the blocks of the plurality of blocks, the method includes: computing a mean value for pixels in the block; computing a variance for pixels in the block; and, in response to the mean value and the variance, retrieving an indicator of a likelihood of a visible artifact for the block; and in response to the retrieved indicator, outputting a signal to selectively increase or reduce a load time of the spatial light modulator for displaying the array of image data pixels.

  • Patent number: 10783197
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an indication that a user is interested in a content (e.g., newsfeed). Based on metadata associated with the content, a topic of the content and an entity associated with the content may be determined (e.g., a political candidate's position on gun control). One or more first entities (e.g., other political candidates) may be selected based on the entity associated with the content. The selected first entities may be different from the entity associated with the content. First contents associated with the first entities and topically related to the topic of the content may be selected (e.g., other candidates' positions on gun control). At least a portion of the first contents may be displayed with at least a portion of the content. The content and at least one of the first contents may have different sentiments toward the topic.

  • Patent number: 10778945
Abstract: A word data loading circuit for a spatial light modulator includes a shadow load register (SLR), a load controller, and a word pattern generation (WPG) circuit. The SLR loads a first word of a pseudorandom image pattern. The load controller parallel shifts the first word to a memory cell array. The WPG circuit generates a next word and controls the SLR to change the first word to the next word. The load controller parallel shifts the next word to the array. The WPG circuit generates an additional word and controls the SLR to change the next word to the additional word. The load controller parallel shifts the additional word to the array. The WPG circuit, SLR, and load controller generate and parallel shift further additional words to the array until the pseudorandom image pattern is loaded in the array.

  • Publication number: 20200240743
Abstract: The buttstock assembly uses a modular design including interchangeable end attachments and sling strap connectors. The interchangeable end attachments allow the buttstock to have different toe heights and configurations for different shooting applications. The interchangeable strap connectors allow the use of either quick-disconnect style sling swivels or more traditional fixed strap loops as desired. The buttstock assembly also uses a “trigger” style locking mechanism to selectively position and lock the buttstock along the length of the extension tube to adjust the overall length of pull of the weapon.

  • Publication number: 20200209398
Abstract: A depth imaging system includes an optical image sensor, an optical beam steering system, an object identification system, and a depth measurement system. The object identification system is coupled to the optical image sensor. The object identification system is configured to identify an object in an image captured by the optical image sensor. The depth measurement system is coupled to the optical beam steering device. The depth measurement system is configured to, responsive to identification of the object by the object identification system: direct an optical signal, via the optical beam steering device, to the object, and to determine a distance to the object based on a time-of-flight of the optical signal.

  • Publication number: 20200105208
Abstract: A method for managing motion includes dividing a time allocated to display of an image into a first interval and a second interval. The second interval is immediately subsequent to the first interval. An amount of light energy to be emitted at a pixel during the time is determined based on the image. A first portion of the light energy is generated at the pixel in the first interval. The first portion comprises as much of the light energy as is generatable in the first interval. A second portion of the light energy is generated at the pixel in the second interval based on the light energy generatable in the first interval being less than the amount of light energy to be emitted at the pixel during the time.

  • Patent number: 10572926
Abstract: Artificial intelligence is used to identify significant records in a computer database. The records in the database are ordered in accordance with a first factor. Records in the database which have a position less than a first threshold are identified to provide second-level records. At least some of the second-level records, but only the second-level records, are arranged into a plurality of groups based on a second factor. For at least one of the groups, the second-level records in the group are then ordered in accordance with a third factor. At least one second-level record in the group is selected, where the selected second-level record has a position greater than a second threshold. Information regarding the selected second-level record is then provided, such as to a client device.
