Patent number: 7342919Abstract: An Internet Call Waiting—Voice over Internet Protocol (ICW-VOIP) service that uses a service control point and service node of a Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), acting as a gatekeeper and bridge respectively, to enable ICW subscribers to answer telephone calls during an internet session without having to disconnect internet access. The primary network components of the ICW-VOIP service comprise a proxy firewall, a service node, and a gateway. When a PSTN call is placed to a subscriber whose line is being used for internet access, the service control point accesses the subscriber's internet address from a database and transmits a message over the internet to the subscriber giving the subscriber the option to accept the call as a VOIP call. Once accepted, the subscriber places an H.323 call through the gateway to the service node. The service control point also forwards the PSTN call to the service node. Using bridging information, the service node matches the subscriber H.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2003Date of Patent: March 11, 2008Assignee: Phase Systems LLCInventors: Li Zhang, Jeffrey P. Patent number: 7103644Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention relate to systems for converged service creation and execution. In an embodiment, a system includes an application server and service session manager logic, where the service session manager logic is in communication with the application server. A converged service creation and execution environment messaging bus is in communication with the service session manager logic, and a plurality of service servers are in communication with the converged service creation and execution environment messaging bus.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2001Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: BellSouth Intellectual Property Corp.Inventors: Li Zhang, Tom Anschutz, Alan Blackburn, Jeffrey P. Patent number: 7099944Abstract: Systems and methods for providing personalized internet protocol (IP) services to an IP enabled device residing on a local area network (LAN) are disclosed. The systems and methods utilize an access device in communication with an access provider network, and involve communicating a first IP address to the access device, the first address allowing the access device to communicate with a first plurality of IP service devices through an Internet service provider (ISP), and communicating a second IP address to the access device, the second address allowing the access device to communicate with a second plurality of IP service devices in the access provider network. When the access device receives IP traffic from the IP enabled device it determines whether the IP traffic is addressed to one of the second IP service devices. If yes, the IP traffic is forwarded to the one of the second IP service devices with the second address as a return address.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2001Date of Patent: August 29, 2006Assignee: BellSouth Intellectual Property CorporationInventors: Thomas Anschutz, Jeffrey P. Patent number: 6272337Abstract: A method and apparatus testing a mobile communications system includes a test control system, real mobile units, and an attenuator matrix controllable by the test control system to vary strengths of signals transmitted by the mobile units for receipt by the mobile communications system. By varying the attenuation of the signals communicated between the mobile units and the mobile communications system, the mobile units may be made to appear to be moving to the mobile communications system. Movement patterns of the mobile units may be stored in the test control system to control attenuation in the attenuator matrix.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1999Date of Patent: August 7, 2001Assignee: Nortel Networks LimitedInventors: H.
