  • Patent number: 10299888
Abstract: A dental crown consisting essentially of stabilized zirconia. The dental crown is particularly suited for pedodontic and veterinary applications and most preferably for pedodontic applications. The zirconia crown may be formed by one of several manufacturing processes. The formed crown exterior can be polished and fine polished and can be covered, preferably only partially, with a porcelain glaze to produce an aesthetic outer surface mimicking a natural tooth. Also disclosed is a method for providing and placing a dental crown upon a natural tooth.

  • Patent number: 9749678
Abstract: A video channel change system may include one or more processors and a memory. The one or more processors may receive first packets including first video frames associated with a first video channel and second packets including second video frames associated with a second video channel. The one or more processors may decode the first packets and display the first video frames while buffering, in a buffer, the second packets. The one or more processors may determine that a packet of the second packets includes a random access point without decoding the packet, discard the second packets from the buffer that were received prior to the packet, buffer additional second packets received subsequent to the packet, and decode the second packets stored in the buffer and display the second video frames included therein, in response to a request to change from the first video channel to the second video channel.

  • Patent number: 8233095
Abstract: A technique that allows a DTV receiver to perform a channel scan in a manner that is faster and more efficient than conventional channel scanning techniques. In accordance with one embodiment of the present invention, the technique allows a DTV receiver to perform a scan of only those channels that are known to be available within a local terrestrial broadcast region. In accordance with another embodiment of the present invention, the technique allows a DTV receiver that operates in conjunction with an antenna, such as a smart antenna designed to comply with EIA/CEA 909, to use the same antenna configuration parameters for different terrestrial broadcast signals in an instance where such signals are known to originate from the same antenna location.

  • Publication number: 20100329354
Abstract: A method providing digital video channel change performance according to the invention is provided. The method may include decoding stored data packets associated with a first program. The method may also include displaying the decoded data packets associated with the first program. The method may further include demultiplexing a plurality of data packets associated with a second program and storing the plurality of data packets associated with the second program. The stored data packets associated with the second program may include a first random access point. The method may also include maintaining data associated with the first random access point until data associated with a second random access point is received.

  • Publication number: 20080266453
Abstract: A method by which a DTV receiver that receives a terrestrial broadcast DTV signal may automatically determine the local time for the local terrestrial broadcast region, as well as DTV receivers that implements such a method, is described. The method includes obtaining a unique identifier of a terrestrial broadcast signal, wherein the unique identifier is transmitted as part of the terrestrial broadcast signal, accessing a memory to obtain a local time offset and a Daylight Savings Time (DST) observance indicator associated with the unique identifier, and calculating the local time based on the local time offset and the DST observance indicator. Additional methods for providing channel availability information to a user based on the unique identifier are described.
