Publication number: 20230175430Abstract: The invention involves a system and method for providing a liquid fuel or a liquid and gaseous fuel to a diesel or Otto cycle engine for operation of the engine. The system includes a primary electronic control module (ECM), which monitors engine sensors and contains a first three-dimensional fuel map for the liquid fuel. A second ECM is connected for bi-directional transfer of information to the first ECM, the second ECM contains a second three-dimensional fuel map for delivery of the gaseous fuel through a secondary gaseous fuel injection assembly. The bi-directional communication between the two ECMs while monitoring the engine sensors allows both ECMs to “learn” an efficient fuel map for delivery of both fuels in the same cycle for improved efficiency, reduction in slip and lower emissions.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 10, 2022Publication date: June 8, 2023Inventor: Jeffrey R. Bach

Patent number: 10955256Abstract: A mapping system, method and computer program product are provided to apply texture, such as windows and doors, to the visual representation of a plurality of buildings. In the context of a method, images of each of a plurality of buildings are analyzed to detect building texture for one or more faces of the buildings. A representation of the building texture is spread to visual representations of one or more faces of a respective building that do not have a detected texture. The building texture may be spread from another face of the same building that has detected texture and is of a corresponding size to the face of the building without detected texture. Or, the building texture may be spread from a face of a neighboring building has a detected texture and is of a corresponding size to the face of the building without detected texture.Type: GrantFiled: October 26, 2018Date of Patent: March 23, 2021Assignee: HERE GLOBAL B.V.Inventors: Kenneth M. Smith, Jeffrey R. Bach, Mark Thompson, Mitchel Deason, Marc Fredrickson

Patent number: 9989650Abstract: In one embodiment, the position of a mobile device is determined based, at least on part, of the relative locations of two or more nearby points. Distance data, received from a range finding sensor, corresponds to distances to the two or more nearby points from the mobile device. A predetermined model that includes previously recorded locations for objects is accessed to receive location data for two or more nearby points. A position of the mobile device is calculated based on the location data and the distance data. The nearby points may be building edges or building corners. The calculation may involve a series of equations. The series of equations may include satellite-based positioning equations in addition to equations based on the predetermined model.Type: GrantFiled: February 13, 2013Date of Patent: June 5, 2018Assignee: HERE Global B.V.Inventors: Bishnu Phuyal, Jeffrey R. Patent number: 9404753Abstract: Systems, devices, features, and methods for navigating on images are disclosed. For example, one method includes identifying a point selected on an initial image. An image component, such as a pixel, of the initial image corresponding to the identified point is determined. The image component of the initial image represents an origin. A route from the origin to a destination is generated, and the destination corresponds to another image component, such as another pixel.Type: GrantFiled: January 23, 2014Date of Patent: August 2, 2016Assignee: HERE Global B.V.Inventors: Joseph P. Mays, Jeffrey R. Bach

Patent number: 9109908Abstract: Systems, devices, features, and methods for obtaining, enhancing, or using data for or with a geographic database, such as a navigation database, are disclosed. For example, one method includes receiving input to enable a probe sensor that is associated with a device used by a being with a physical disability. Geographic data is collected via the probe sensor when the device is in use by the being with the physical disability. The collected geographic data is provided to a data collection facility to develop data corresponding to a geographic and/or navigation database.Type: GrantFiled: March 29, 2010Date of Patent: August 18, 2015Assignee: HERE Global B.V.Inventor: Jeffrey R. Publication number: 20140280039Abstract: In one embodiment, a mobile device or a server updates search results on a three dimensional map. The three dimensional map may include outlines of buildings. A first partial search query is received and a map database is queried based on the first partial search query. A set of map results are output or displayed based on the first partial search query. A second partial search query is received that includes the first partial search query. The set of map results is narrowed or filtered and a subset of the set of map results is output or displayed.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 12, 2013Publication date: September 18, 2014Applicant: NAVTEQ B.V.Inventor: Jeffrey R. Patent number: 7100582Abstract: A propane injector system for internal combustion engines for improving performance, fuel efficiency, safety, cleanliness and environmental friendliness. The system consists of introducing propane gas into “a black box” that has a pressure reducing valve to drop propane pressure as it flows initially from its storage tank and through an electronically controlled on/off valve. Propane enters an injector manifold where it is distributed to two specially designed gas handling fuel injectors that act as variable flow rate pumps controlled by a programmable microprocessor that is pre programmed for specific vehicles or can be customized with improved performance programming as determined by the vehicle owner. A pressure feedback system senses when the engine blower has caused a pressure boost on its high side feeding the cylinders. Transducers located in a Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor detect the pressure boost and communicate with the microprocessor.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 2005Date of Patent: September 5, 2006Assignee: Dynamic Fuel Systems, Inc.Inventor: Jeffrey R.
