  • Publication number: 20230072418
Abstract: During the manufacturing process the exterior surface of one or both of the sheets of plastic film which form the bags is treated with low temperature corona discharge plasma to raise the level of surface charge magnitude to at least 43 Dyne to increase the adhesion force between the bags. A recess is formed in each of the bags to further increase the adhesion. The increased adhesion causes the mouth of one bag to automatically open as the adjacent bag is removed from the rack. The recess is formed at the same time openings are created in the bags to accept the support rods of a dispensing rack. The bags can have simple edge sides or side gussets and may be provided in a package including a pouch which receives and supports the lower portions of the bags.

  • Publication number: 20210300629
Abstract: A bag apparatus includes a first bag wall, sides, a bottom, and an opening. Handles extend from the opening a define slits for hanging on a dispenser. A tab is disposed between the handles and extends from the bag at the opening. The tab includes a slit for handing on a dispenser. The bag and tab are configured to permit opening of the bag with pulling with a first force when the bag is mounted on a rack, and separation of the bag at the tab with pulling with a second force stronger than the first force.

  • Publication number: 20200031562
Abstract: A multilayer packing liner includes a first outer layer comprising an insulating material. The insulating material is MYLAR, metallized polypropylene, metallized polyethylene, or nylon. The packing liner includes a first bubble layer including polymeric material and an interstitial layer comprising a polymeric sheet. The interstitial layer interposes the first bubble layer and a second bubble layer. The second bubble layer is formed of polymeric material and configured to define voids or ‘bubbles’ as in the second layer.

  • Publication number: 20170036821
Abstract: “Deli” bags are formed by extruding first and second aligned sheets of high density polyethylene film having a thickness no greater than 0.0008 inches. The aligned sheets are heat sealed along the sides and either the top or bottom edges to form each bag. After printing indicia on the wall of each bag, mating closure tracks are created. The tracks are situated proximate the non-sealed top or bottom of the bag. A closure member in the form of a slide or zipper is installed as the bags are separated and stacked. The closure member co-operates with the closure tracks to open and close the bag. Preferably, four side-by-side bags can be processed at the same time, increasing efficiency and reducing manufacturing cost. The bags have extra thin walls, increased strength and keep food fresher.

  • Patent number: 8689526
Abstract: A plastic bag for retaining a food product is formed of first and second plastic sheets sealed along the bottom and sides. The bag has an exterior increased friction surface section proximate the mouth. The bag is used in combination with a glove having an exterior increased friction surface portion. The exterior increased friction portion of the glove engages the increased friction section of the bag to facilitate opening of the mouth of the bag. Preferably, aligned increased friction sections are formed on the exterior surface of opposite sides of the bag and the glove has exterior increased friction portions on the tips of the finger stalls. When the bag is held between the thumb and index finger of the glove user, movement of the thumb and index finger of the glove in opposite directions facilitates opening of the bag.

  • Patent number: 7314137
Abstract: The dispenser includes a header. A plurality of bags is removably attached to the header. Each of the bags has a bottom section. The dispenser also includes a pouch. The pouch has a rear wall and an opening. A back sheet is integral with the rear wall of the pouch and extends to the header for attaching the pouch and the header such that the bottom sections of the bags may extend through the pouch opening and within the pouch. In this manner, bags that are detached from the header, but are not removed from the dispenser, remain in the pouch and are available for use by the next customer.
