  • Patent number: 6796551
Abstract: A tamper resistant mixture adjustment screw arrangement for a carburetor. The arrangement includes a carburetor body having at least one air/fuel adjustment screw threaded therein. The adjustment screw has a threaded shank and a head portion. The head portion is defined by a smooth top surface and an undulant, uneven side surface capable of being engaged and mated by an adjusting tool having a complementary undulant, uneven side surface capable of being engaged and mated by an adjusting tool having a complementary undulant, uneven surface for initially adjusting the air/fuel mixture in the carburetor. A blocking curb extends from the carburetor body to a level which at least substantially corresponds to a projecting extent of each adjustment screw and being closely spaced to the screw head to prevent the screw from being turned by commonly available tools, but to permit the screw to be adjusted by the adjusting tool.

  • Patent number: 5533869
Abstract: A housing for a power tool has an integral molded air channel or duct. The air channel surrounds the flywheel rotor of the power tool engine. The air channel is able to capture air pushed by the spinning flywheel rotor and direct the air directly towards the muffler of the engine. The air mixes with the exhaust gases from the muffler to reduce the temperature of the gases as they leave the housing.

  • Patent number: RE33050
Abstract: A hand held portable blower/vacuum assembly includes a gasoline engine mounted on a blower housing that is interchangeably operable as a blower or vacuum unit and is symmetrically arranged for right or left hand use. A U-shaped carrying handle is secured to an upper housing enclosing the engine by means of a mounting structure that includes anti vibration elements. For eliminating the effect of both gyroscopic and centrifugal forces, the engine is arranged with the piston and crankshaft in horizontal and vertical orientations respectively, while both exhaust and cooling air are discharged from the front of the unit away from an operator so as to provide a balanced unit operable with either the right or left hand. A multi-position throttle located on the backside of the unit removed from the handle is incrementally settable for operating the unit at preselected fixed speeds.
