  • Patent number: 10107756
Abstract: A method of fluorometrically detecting the concentration of chemical components in oxidizing formulations is disclosed. In a particular embodiment the detection is of the stabilizing component of picolinic acid, present in such formulations, although any component which fluoresces may be detected. According to the invention sample preparation of the oxidizing formulation includes adding to said sample an excess of reducing agent to bind peracid, and in the case of picolinic acid, adding to said sample an excess of terbium chloride. The sample then is subjected to radiation to induce fluorescence and the concentration of said chemical component is determined by a linear relationship between fluorescence emitted and the concentration of the target chemical.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 12, 2016
Date of Patent: October 23, 2018
    Assignee: Ecolab USA Inc.
Inventors: John Wilhelm Bolduc, Eugene Tokhtuev, Anatoly Skirda, Anna Pilipchenko, Justin Scott Valenstein, Amanda Bakken, Stacy Fawbush, Jeffrey S. Hutchison

  • Patent number: 8703667
Abstract: The passage of a container along a conveyor is facilitated by applying to the container or conveyor aqueous compositions containing hardness ions. The compatibility of the aqueous compositions with PET bottles is improved when the ratio of hardness as CaCO3 to alkalinity as CaCO3 is greater than about 1 to 1.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 12, 2011
Date of Patent: April 22, 2014
    Assignee: Ecolab USA Inc.

  • Patent number: 8252424
Abstract: A layered film having at least one layer containing particulate pigment in an extrudable thermoplastic material such as an ionomer, ionomeric precursor or the like, and a molded article containing the same. The layered film can be produced by an extrusion process and has a polymeric matrix essentially free of iron/ionomer complexes.

  • Publication number: 20090200234
Abstract: The present invention provides methods for cleaning surfaces that are sensitive to high temperatures and/or that have pH limitations. Exemplary surfaces to be cleaned using the methods of the present invention include membranes. The methods of the present invention include applying an active oxygen use solution including an active oxygen source to the surface. An activator complex and an alkaline override use solution are applied to the surface, either in combination, or in a stepwise manner, before, after or simultaneously with the active oxygen use solution.
