  • Patent number: 11673336
Abstract: A collection of camera-based monitoring sub-systems can be added to a composite-based additive manufacturing (CBAM) system to autonomously inspect the integrity of each layer and remediate issues in real time. Cameras are located at various stations throughout the process. Resulting images are analyzed to see if processed pages are within tolerance based on comparison with models. Cameras can be placed at the print platen, on a rear conveyor that conveys powdered pages to the stacker and in the stacker itself to make sure pages are stacked and aligned properly. The present invention provides quality assurance and quality control to validate the build process at the layer level. This reduces the amount of post-build labor to perform, and since it shows data internal to the part, it dramatically reduces the amount of destructive testing required.

  • Patent number: 10586250
Abstract: A host may provide a crowd-source price program. Participants in the crowd-source price program are incentivized to participate by rewards offered by the host. A participant acquires commercial information related to goods, services, or both being offered by a merchant and provides the host with the commercial information. The commercial information may include a purchase price for goods, services, or both being offered by the merchant and may include an identifier corresponding to the goods, the services, or both. The host may validate the commercial information, generate a reward, and provide the reward to the participant. The reward may be an offer for goods, services, or both offered by the host. The participant may accept the reward.

  • Patent number: 9697548
Abstract: Techniques for managing a return request may be provided. For example, a user may want to return an item that the user received from an item provider via an electronic marketplace. The user can take a picture of the item and transmit the image to a computer that determines that the user would like to return the item. The computer may also determine that the item is returnable (e.g., was provided to the user within an allowable timeframe, satisfies a constraint for returning the item). The computer can initiate a return of the item. In some examples, the computer can also determine a convenient return location or the reason that the user is returning the item to the item provider.

  • Patent number: 9519976
Abstract: A stereoscopic camera calibration target includes: first illumination points on a first surface; second illumination points on a second surface, the first and second surfaces being planar, parallel to each other, and spaced from each other; and circuitry that sets a strobe frequency of the first and second illumination points. A method includes: moving a calibration target in front of a stereoscopic camera, the calibration target comprising first points on a first surface and second points on a second surface, the first and second surfaces being planar, parallel to each other, and spaced from each other; capturing, using the stereoscopic camera, an image sequence of the calibration target, the image sequence comprising pairs of left and right images of at least some of the first and second points; determining a calibration value for the stereoscopic camera using the image sequence; and processing the image sequence using the calibration value.

  • Patent number: 9369694
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for adjusting stereo images includes receiving a video sequence associated with a recorded setting of a stereoscopic camera, the video sequence comprising pairs of left and right images. The method includes processing the pairs of left and right images to reduce influence of a discrepancy between the recorded setting and an actual configuration of the stereoscopic camera.

  • Patent number: 9077961
Abstract: A device includes a plurality of vertically aligned pairs of light sources. The device is configured to sequentially illuminate the vertically aligned pairs of light sources. The output illuminating can be captured by a camera having a rolling shutter delay to create an image having a rolling shutter artifact. The image can be analyzed to determine the rolling shutter delay of the camera.

  • Patent number: 8446433
Abstract: A system includes a computing device that includes a memory for storing one or more computer graphics, and a graphics distorter. The graphics distorter applies a distortion model to the computer graphic to produce a distorted version of the computer graphic, while substantially simultaneously allowing user interactions with the computer graphic. The applied distortion model represents lens distortion.
