Publication number: 20110031692Abstract: The invention is a game that preferably comprises a gameboard and twenty-one (21) twelve-sided (dodecahedron) dice that feature the notes of the chromatic scale. The game may be played with one to four people and lasts an average of 15 to 30 minutes. An unlimited number of players may be added and the game may be prolonged by adding more dice. It is believed that such method and the corresponding game apparatus provide a highly entertaining, strategic, and fast-paced game which incorporates a unique blend of chance, strategy, and skill.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 5, 2010Publication date: February 10, 2011Inventor: Jeffrey Siegel

Publication number: 20070024468Abstract: The identification of safe havens for hazardous material transports is provided. Safe havens include locations at which a hazardous material transport is less susceptible to an event that may result in a hazardous material release and/or a location at which the impact of a hazardous material release is reduced. When an event occurs indicating that hazardous material transports should be moved to safe havens, the locations of hazardous material transports are determined. Safe havens may then be determined for each hazardous material transport. In some cases, safe havens may be selected from a group of predetermined locations designated as safe havens. In some cases, locations may be dynamically designated as safe havens for hazardous material transports after the occurrence of an event. The hazardous material transports are then moved to the selected safe havens, thereby reducing their susceptibility to events and/or minimizing the impact of an event that involves a hazardous material transport.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2006Publication date: February 1, 2007Applicant: HNTB HOLDINGS LTDInventors: Charles Quandel, Douglas Morrison, Jeffrey Siegel, W. Moore, Glen Herman, Robert Marros, Alex Kavanagh

Publication number: 20060167728Abstract: The assessment of security risks associated with linear corridors, such as transportation corridors and utilities corridors, is provided. Initially, a site is selected for evaluation. Survey data and context sensitive information, such as demographic information, environmental information, corridor asset information, and the like, is collected for the site. Linear corridors are identified within the data, and critical assets within each linear corridor are also identified. Security risks associated with linear corridors may then be assessed using the survey data and context sensitive information. In addition, mitigation strategies, response strategies, and recovery strategies may be developed for the security risks assessed for the linear corridors.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 20, 2006Publication date: July 27, 2006Applicant: HNTB CorporationInventors: Jeffrey Siegel, Charles Quandel, W. Moore, Douglas Morrison, Glen Herman, Robert Marros

Patent number: 7081794Abstract: Two or more digital-input RF amplifiers are configured in parallel such that a combiner combines their respective outputs to generate a relatively large composite RF output signal. A feedback control architecture minimizes the phase differences between the various amplifier outputs so that the outputs can be efficiently combined. The feedback control can measure the return loss for each amplifier to determine how to adjust each amplifier's phase. In some embodiments, the feedback control can also measure the composite RF output signal for use in phase adjustment. In certain implementations, phase adjustment is implemented by an iterative coarse phase-adjustment mode (e.g., based on either the return loss or the composite output signal) followed by an iterative fine phase-adjustment mode (e.g., based on the return loss).Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2004Date of Patent: July 25, 2006Assignee: Andrew CorporationInventors: Michael E. Burke, Josef Ocenasek, Jeffrey A. Siegel

Patent number: 7077392Abstract: A cutting board for chopping food articles and household items includes a baseboard having a cutting surface for cutting articles thereon. The cutting board further includes a smooth curved sloping surface region at one edge. A surface of the smooth curved sloping surface region has a texture which is different from a texture of the cutting surface. The smooth curved sloping surface region enhances the transfer of chopped articles from the cutting surface to another location.Type: GrantFiled: March 18, 2004Date of Patent: July 18, 2006Assignee: Lifetime Hoan CorporationInventors: Jeffrey Siegel, Adam Krent

Publication number: 20050017010Abstract: The elastic loop for securing a bag to a trashcan is an elastic cord formed as an endless loop. The loop may be formed in one-piece, or may be a linear cord with its two ends coupled together to form a continuous loop by, e.g., a coupler crimped about opposing ends of the cord. The elastic cord is constructed of a plurality of elastic strands wrapped tightly in a pliable tubular cover. The continuous loop has a circumference less than the circumference of a trashcan for which it is adapted but can be stretched to fit tightly around the trashcan and thereby secure a trash bag to the trashcan.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 21, 2003Publication date: January 27, 2005Inventors: Jeffrey Siegel, Kathleen Roebuck
