    Abstract: A top hinge for a refrigerator door is provided with a first area having an upper surface and having a lower surface, a second area having an upper surface and a lower surface, both surfaces being laterally displaced from the first area lower surface. A hollow pintle extends in a first direction from the lower surface of the second area. The upper surface of the second area is displaced in the first direction from the upper surface of the first area, and a transition section connects the first area and the second area.
