    Abstract: An eddy-current actuated balancer includes a barrel having a locating wall at one end thereof; two balancing wheels mounted around the barrel and carrying a respective counterweight at the border, a washer set between the balancing wheels, an elastic ring and a lock ring and a pulsed magnetic field generator mounted on each balancing wheel. The balancing wheels, the washer and the elastic ring are clamped between the locating wall of the barrel and the lock ring. Each pulsed magnetic field generator is controlled to generate a pulsed magnetic field acting upon the associating balancing wheel during its rotation for inducing an eddy current that causes the associating balancing wheel to make an angular displacement relative to the barrel for balance adjustment.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for manufacturing a microstructure in a photosensitive glass substrate, which include the steps of generating first femtosecond laser pulses by a femtosecond laser source and focusing the first femtosecond laser pulses on a surface or an interior of the photosensitive glass substrate by a focus lens to define a modified region; generating second femtosecond laser pulses by the femtosecond laser source, adjusting a frequency of the second femtosecond laser pulses to be higher than that of the first femtosecond laser pulses by a frequency adjustment unit and an energy adjustment unit; focusing the adjusted second femtosecond laser pulses on the modified region of the photosensitive glass substrate to crystallize a substance of the modified region; and, after crystallization, etching off the crystallized region to obtain the microstructure in the photosensitive glass substrate.

    Abstract: A multi-axis Cartesian guided parallel kinematic machine has a frame, a base platform, a multi-axis Cartesian guiding mechanism assembly, multiple driving strut assemblies and a motion platform. The motion platform is connected to the base platform through the driving strut assemblies and the multi-axis Cartesian guiding mechanism assembly. The multi-axis Cartesian guiding mechanism assembly has multiple linear guiding mechanisms and rotary guiding mechanisms that are in-serial linked and arranged in orthogonal to each other according to the Cartesian coordinate system. The multiple driving strut assemblies are in-parallel connected to the base platform and the motion platform using pivot joints. Each driving strut assembly is a telescoping strut assembly or a sliding strut assembly. When the driving strut assemblies are actuated, the motion platforms can be driven to a desired position in the Cartesian workspace with a controllable platform orientation relative to the frame.
