  • Patent number: 10458573
Abstract: A hose includes an inner tube defining a central longitudinal axis there through, and is formed of a vulcanized rubber and a plurality of rod shaped particles orientated substantially parallel with the central longitudinal axis, along with other typical materials. The inner tube has a tube wall thickness (t) of between about 0.5 mm to about 1.5 mm, and the plurality of rod shaped particles is incorporated in an amount of 10% or less by weight. The hose further includes a tie layer directly surrounding the inner tube, a first reinforcement layer surrounding the tie layer, and at least a second reinforcement layer surrounding the first reinforcement layer. An interlayer is interposed between the first and the second reinforcement layer, and the interlayer bonds the first reinforcement layer to the second reinforcement layer. An outside cover surrounds the second reinforcement layer, as well as any additional layers.

  • Patent number: 7188343
Abstract: A system and method for managing multiple server computer systems on a computer network. The functions of a central management server are distributed to multiple daemons executing independently of each other on one or more computer systems. Distributing the functions of the central management server to separate multiple daemons substantially improves the reliability of a multi-server management application.

  • Publication number: 20060278321
Abstract: A pneumatic tire has a pair of shoulder portions extending between a tread portion and opposed sidewall portions. The tire has at least one ply of a composite fabric. The composite fabric has three layers with the middle layer comprising a plurality of straight warp yarns wherein the three layers are bound together with binder yarns. At a minimum, the composite fabric ply is located in the tire shoulders.

  • Publication number: 20030044400
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and composition for a selective apoptosis factor that will specifically kill cancer and other target cells but not normal cells. The method is for use in the cancer therapy, for anti-aging, bone disease as well as other applications in human or animals. This invention is focused on the alpha 2-HS glycoproteins (AHSG) and their related clones.

  • Publication number: 20030033085
Abstract: An embodiment of an object class test involves constructing objects from classes, developing a unit class test for each object, passing data into each object using the unit class test, and retrieving data from each object using the unit class test to determine if the object is functional. Accordingly, the object class test ensures that each object is functional before the objects are installed in a software development system. In addition, the object class test documents and implements source code necessary to produce standard output messages from the unit class test for each class, thus formalizing the object class test output into an easily parseable and human readable format.

  • Patent number: 6258779
Abstract: The present invention provides the methods to isolate the proteins specifically induced apoptosis (programmed cell death) in prostate cancer cells (LNCAP), leukemia cells (HL-60), and breast cancer cells (MCF-70), but without effect in normal human lung fibroblast cells (CCD 39 Lu). P-1 has no effect on breast cancer cells. Five proteins have been isolated from the conditioned media of culture cells: (1) Apogen P-1: the proteins (Apogen P-1a, Apogen P-1b and Apogen P-1c) isolated from the conditioned medium of XC cells are able to induce apoptosis in prostate cancer cells (LNCAP) without effect in normal human lung fibroblast (CCD 39 Lu), colon cancer (T84), breast cancer (MCF-7) and leukemia (HL-60) cells. (2) Apogen P-2: the protein isolated from the conditioned medium of C3H1OT1/2 cells is able to induce apoptosis in prostate cancer cells (LNCAP) and breast cancer (MCF-7) without effect in normal human lung fibroblast (CCD 39 Lu) and colon cancer (T84) cells.

  • Patent number: 6172191
Abstract: The method to isolate a protein, designated as p10, which strongly inhibits the activity of H-Ras bound to GTP in vitro while in the presence of cAMP, which inactivates the biological function of Ras is provided. Protein p10 also inhibits intrinsic GTPase activity of Ras without affecting GTP binding activity in vitro, which keeps Ras in its active form and activates Ras biologically. The invention activates or inhibits Ras in a cAMP dependent manner leading to the stimulation or inhibition of cell proliferation.
