  • Patent number: 10104745
Abstract: A power handling system of a digitally addressable lighting interface (DALI) system controls switches connected with a bus of the DALI system that powers lower power light sources. A power supply circuit receives energy conducted on the bus to the lower power light sources and conducts at least part of the energy to a capacitor. Electric energy is stored in the capacitor until the capacitor stores at least a designated threshold of input voltage of a controller. The capacitor powers the controller to close one or more switches using at least some of the stored electric energy.

Date of Patent: October 16, 2018
    Assignee: General Electric Company
Inventors: Lajos Csibi, Jeno Balazs, Richard Boros, Tamas Daranyi, Gabor Pap

  • Patent number: 9424740
Abstract: A system for monitoring an area is provided. The system comprises a plurality of stationary sensors that can sense events and comprise a wireless output signal broadcast capability for transmitting output signals from the stationary sensors by a wireless communication protocol. The system further comprises gateway units connected to a wired backbone network and configured to transmit information relating to the output signals of the stationary sensors by a wired communication protocol, and a base station connected to the wired backbone network configured to receive the information transmitted by the gateway units on the wired communication protocol and to time-stamp the events signaled by the stationary sensors. The monitored area comprises sub-areas, and a group of stationary sensors are assigned to each of the sub-areas and to a gateway unit for directly receiving the output signals from the group of stationary sensors.

Inventors: Akos Erdos, Jeno Balazs, Peter Csato, Gabor Szabo
  • Patent number: 9119258
Abstract: A system and method for equally splitting the current supplied to parallel connected strings of LEDs. The system and method includes a current splitting circuit such as a mirror circuit that divides the current substantially equally between two or more parallel connected strings of LEDs. The current splitting circuit ensures that illumination levels of the strings of LEDs are uniform without requiring the strings of LEDs to be binned. The current splitting circuit also allows the strings of LEDs to be dimmed in both pulse width modulation (PWM) and continuous modes.
