  • Patent number: 9959959
Abstract: A magnetic steel sheet including a layer adjoining at least one of a top side and bottom side of the magnetic metal sheet. The layer includes a metal oxide containing titanium oxide or tantalum oxide and the layer adjoins the magnetic steel sheet along a diffusion zone into which the titanium or tantalum of the metal oxide has diffused into the magnetic steel sheet. The diffusion zone is produced on at least one of a top surface and a bottom surface of the magnetic steel sheet and the diffusion layer diffuses one of tantalum and titanium as metal into the at least one surface. The metal of the at the at least one surface is converted into an associated metal oxide to form the layer including the metal oxide, and a residual content of the metal of the metal oxide remains in the diffusion zone.

  • Patent number: 9610605
Abstract: In a method for cold gas spraying a layer, coating particles are accelerated in a cold spraying nozzle. The particles have a plastic encapsulation. In said manner, the plastic is precipitated onto the substrate together with the metal material, thereby forming in particular layer compositions having good sliding properties, dirt repellent properties, or lubricating properties. The coating can be used as a bearing component of a sliding bearing, as a flow component, in particular as a rotor blade of wind power plants or body components of transportation vehicle, or as trim components of structures.

  • Publication number: 20160090653
Abstract: A method for producing a metal foam includes depositing metal-containing particles and blowing-agent-containing particles by cold spraying. A layer formed in this manner is formed from metallic particles and particles containing blowing agent, wherein the blowing agent forms the core of coated particles. The shell of said particles is likewise metallic, such that it is easier to deposit said particles together with the metallic particles. Therefore, a higher concentration of blowing agent can advantageously be produced in the layer. Greater possibilities are advantageously produced thereby to provide the porous layers with required pore profiles.

  • Patent number: 9200370
Abstract: A ceramic layer is fabricated on a substrate by coating the substrate with a material containing chemical precursors of a ceramic. The precursors are transformed by a heat treatment into the ceramic to be fabricated. Different methods for heat insertion may be used for individual layers by absorbing particles, which are utilized in different concentrations or different chemical compositions. A targeted heat insertion even in lower layer regions, for example, by microwave animation, or ultraviolet or infrared light insertion is therefore possible. Beneficially, as a result, comparatively thick layers in particular can be fabricated by a single heat treatment layer.

  • Patent number: 9029287
Abstract: A component part has a catalyst surface. This surface has metallic components and components of MnO2 (13) in contact with the former. The metallic components are preferably formed of Ag and/or Ni. These material pairs achieve a great improvement in catalyst action compared to the pure metals. Especially in the case of use of Ni, which is toxicologically safe, these surfaces, for example, may also find use in ambient air purification for reduction of the ozone content. The surface can be applied, for example, by a coating of the component part, in which case the metallic component and the component of MnO2 are applied in two layers.

  • Patent number: 8871357
Abstract: A method for generating a closed-pore metal foam and a component in which such a metal foam is used are provided. To form the metal foam having closed pores, the component is provided with a composite of metal particles that may have a layer of a blowing agent. Alternatively the metal and the blowing agent can also be arranged in layers of a sheet, or as a mixture of particles. A heat treatment is the applied whereby the blowing agent liberates a propellant gas, the blowing agent including fullerenes or nanotubes to which the blowing agent is chemically or physically bound. Due to the high temperature stability of the nanotubes or fullerenes, blowing agents may be thereby generated which liberate propellant gas at temperatures of above 1000 DEG C., such that even metals with high solidus temperatures of above 1000 DEG C. may be processed to metal foams.

  • Patent number: 8586374
Abstract: In an analysis device and a method for testing the catalytic activity of surfaces, a reaction cell is provided that has a recess for a sample that is provided with the catalytic surface. In the analysis device, an optical test of the reaction occurring in the reaction cell may occur. The reaction cell has a closed channel that is part of a fluid circuit. The reaction cell may be advantageously designed in a very space-saving manner in its scale, such that a portable use of the analysis cell is possible as well. Here, a simple measurement process of the absorption capacity of the sample fluid located in the reaction cell is conducted. To this end, a laser diode is provided, the measurement stream of which is directed into the reaction cell and reflected multiple times. The light intensity is measured by means of a photodetector.

  • Patent number: 8574687
Abstract: In a method for depositing a non-metallic, in particular ceramic, coating on a substrate (2) by cold gas spraying, the method has the steps of: producing a reactive gas flow (5) having at least one reactive gas, injecting into the reactive gas flow (5) particles (4) consisting of at least one material required for producing a non-metallic, in particular ceramic, coating material by reaction with the reactive gas, so as to form a mixture flow of reactive gas and particles (4), producing reactive gas radicals in the mixture flow, and directing the mixture flow having reactive gas radicals and particles onto a surface of a substrate (2) to be coated, and so a non-metallic, in particular ceramic, coating is deposited on the surface of the substrate (2). In addition, a description is given of a device (1) for carrying out the method.

  • Patent number: 8512542
Abstract: A method for the electrochemical coating of a substrate uses brush plating. This is to take place with an electrolyte in that particles are dispersed, which are embedded into the developing layer. It is proposed to add the particles to the carrier for the electrolyte by way of a separate conduit system. The electrolyte is added by way of a conduit system. In this way it is achieved that an agglomeration of the particles in the electrolyte can be prevented because only a short time passes between when the particles are fed and the layer is formed. A device for electrochemical coating has two conduit systems provided for this purpose.

  • Patent number: 8460750
Abstract: In a method for creating a dry lubricant layer, the layer is formed by a coating material which is first applied to a substrate, on which the dry lubricant layer is to be produced. The coating material contains a solvent such as ethanethiol and the precursors of a metal sulphide, in particular a metaloxysulphide, such as a molybdenum salt of dithiocarboxylic acid. Once the coating material has been applied to the substrate, the material is subjected to thermal treatment, whereby the solvent evaporates and the precursors of the metal sulphide react with one another to form the dry lubricant layer. This advantageously permits the creation of dry lubricant layers containing a high fraction of metal sulphide, giving the layers improved sliding friction characteristics. Another advantage is that the oxysulphide layers that have been formed are also particularly stable in relation to an oxidation.

  • Patent number: 8460793
Abstract: A component with a self-healing surface layer, a self-healing enamel and a coating powder are disclosed. A self-healing is guaranteed by a reactive substance, which is encased in sheathed particles. Only damage to the enamel coating leads to a destruction of the coating, preferably under the influence of a catalytic material, so that the encased fluid enamel can emerge. Under the effects of UV light the fluid enamel cures and seals the crack thus occurring.
