  • Publication number: 20070221099
Abstract: A cementitious material is provided that includes a phosphate based component and an alkali earth component. The alkali earth ion component has as a majority source a calcium aluminate calcium ion source of dodeca-calcium hepta-aluminate, or tricalcium aluminate. Magnesium oxide that has been fused and crushed to a size of less than 200 microns, alone or in combination with the calcium aluminate calcium ion source is also provided as the alkali earth ion component. When the phosphate based component and alkali earth ion components are combined in appropriate proportions, a rigid structure is obtained. A cementitious material formulation is also provided having an aqueous acidic phosphate solution as a part B and an alkali earth ion source as a part A that includes calcium aluminate, magnesium oxide or a combination thereof. Other additives include strength enhancing insoluble phosphate additive, an impurity metal reaction suppressant, tackifiers, anti-foaming agents, and the like.

  • Patent number: 6723442
Abstract: Disclosed is a ceramic material which is suitable for coating a body by way of a thermal spraying method and which has a coefficient of longitudinal thermal expansion that may be matched to that of a metal. The ceramic material includes 10 to 95% by weight of MgAl2O4, 5 to 90% by weight of MgO, up to 20% by weight of Al2O3, remainder standard impurities, and has grains of MgO which are embedded in a matrix of MgAl2O4.

  • Publication number: 20030129657
Abstract: The invention relates to the mass-spectrometric determination of the masses of biopolymers or their fragments without the use of internal or external reference substances. The invention consists in replacing each mass measured by the nearest most probable mass for the organic substance or biopolymer measured, whereby an accuracy better than approximately 0.1 mass units is automatically achieved within a mass range up to about 3000 atomic mass units in mass spectrometers which, although capable of stable mass calibration, do not achieve particularly high mass accuracies. In the case of proteins, this accuracy leads to surprising improvements when searching protein-sequence databases.

  • Patent number: 5939219
Abstract: A high-temperature fuel cell has at least one electrically insulating covering. The electrically insulating covering contains at least two layers which are disposed one on top of the other and are each formed of an electrically insulating ceramic material. The composition of the ceramic material of one layer is different from the composition of the ceramic material of the other layer. This results in optimization of the insulation characteristic and the adhesion of the electrically insulating covering. A method is also provided for producing a high-temperature fuel cell having at least one electrically insulating covering.

  • Patent number: 5102593
Abstract: A process for producing refractory, carbon-bonded ceramic moldings includes spraying a low-viscosity organic containing carbon containing binder onto a coarse fraction of a refractory component, the coarse fraction having a particle size larger then 0.5 mm while maintaining the coarse refractory fraction having a particle size smaller then 0.5 mm onto the coated granules, pressing the granules thus produced into moldings, and subsequently curing the organic binder in the moldings, and tempering or firing the moldings.
