  • Patent number: 11296336
Abstract: A water separator for a fuel cell system includes a closed housing with a gas connection, and a base plate arranged remotely from the gas connection and having a drainage outlet, an inside width of the housing at least in portions decreasing from the base plate towards the gas connection, and the height of the housing being less than the greatest inside width of the housing.

  • Patent number: 9673460
Abstract: A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell having a housing that encases the fuel cell, a supply line for a fuel cell fuel, and an exhaust gas line for fuel-cell exhaust gas. In this arrangement the supply line extends in the exhaust gas line, and the exhaust gas line encases the supply line while forming a space. Any leakage in the supply line thus results in the fuel being flushed out by means of the exhaust gases flowing in the exhaust gas line so that higher system reliability and a reduction in costs can be achieved.

  • Publication number: 20150017557
Abstract: A fuel cell system is provided. The fuel cell system includes an air inlet, a hydrogen inlet, an inert gas outlet, a water outlet, an electrical power outlet, at least one low temperature fuel cell and at least one air separator. The air separator is positioned between the air inlet and a cathode of the at least one fuel cell for separating oxygen from the air and feeding the oxygen to a cathode of the at least one fuel cell. The fuel cell is capable of delivering liquid water as a by-product due to the use of substantially pure oxygen and hydrogen in a low temperature operation, such that extraction and condensation requiring cooling capacity is not necessary, The fuel cell system is therefore efficient and compact.

  • Patent number: 8668165
Abstract: A wheel drive system for an aircraft that features at least one electric motor and at least one fuel cell as energy source for the electric motor, wherein the electric motor is coupleable to at least one wheel of at least one landing gear of the aircraft. The wheel drive system reduces the fuel consumption and lowers the emission of CO2 and pollutants—primarily carbon monoxide and unburned hydrocarbons. Persons, vehicles and other aircraft furthermore are not endangered by a jet blast while the aircraft is taxiing because the main engines do not have to be started until the take-off and landing strip is reached. The operation of the wheel drive system furthermore leads to a reduced noise pollution.
