  • Patent number: 11124213
Abstract: A method for securing a level crossing permits timely securing of the level crossing and is particularly effective and reliable. The method proceeds in such a way that vehicle data are received from a track-bound vehicle approaching the level crossing by a stationary control device of a train control system. The vehicle data include at least the current position and the current speed of the track-bound vehicle. A strike-in point is determined on the basis of the received vehicle data and route data including at least the location of the level crossing. Securing of the level crossing is triggered when the strike-in point is reached. A stationary control device for a train control system and an arrangement having such a stationary control device are also provided.

  • Patent number: 10933897
Abstract: A method secures a railroad crossing which allows a timely securing of the railroad crossing, and is particularly efficient and reliable. The method proceeds in such a way that sensor data relating to a rail-borne vehicle approaching the railroad crossing are detected by a track-side sensor device. The sensor data contains at least the current speed of the rail-borne vehicle. The detected sensor data are transmitted by the track-side sensor device to a stationary control device. A switch-on time is determined by the stationary control device taking into account the transmitted sensor data and route data. Upon reaching the switch-on time, the securing of the railroad crossing is initiated by the stationary control device. After the railroad crossing has been successfully secured, a travel permission that extends beyond the railroad crossing is determined by a control device of a train control system, and is transmitted to the rail-borne vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20180300773
Abstract: A method provides travel information, in which travel information relating to a vehicle is provided and is transmitted between a mobile device and a central computer. In order to achieve an improved method for providing travel information, it is proposed that, before providing the travel information, the vehicle for which the travel information is provided is determined using the mobile device in an automated manner.

  • Patent number: 9493176
Abstract: A method operates a railway safety system having at least one trackside device while taking into account a measured velocity value recorded when the rail vehicle drives into a switch-on section of the railway safety system. In order to minimize the closing times for a level crossing by such a method, the measured velocity value is used as the basis for checking whether a correction time for forwarding a signal from the one trackside device to an associated railway safety assembly is to be set according to the measured velocity value when the rail vehicle drives into the switch-on section. Thereafter, a set correction time is checked to determine if the set correction time should remain effective according to at least one further influencing variable of the rail vehicle that determines the travel time. A railway safety system for carrying out the method is also provided.

  • Patent number: 9308832
Abstract: A method for operating railbound vehicles includes transmitting driving information, between a first railbound vehicle and a second railbound vehicle, relating to the future driving operation of at least one of the two railbound vehicles, and coordinating the future driving operation of the two railbound vehicles on the basis of that driving information transmitted therebetween, in such a manner that braking energy fed back by the first railbound vehicle during a braking operation can be used at least partially by the second railbound vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20130174078
Abstract: A configuration for graphically visualizing system conditions has at least one system containing a graphical output, in particular a train tracking system for railroad safety engineering. In order to adapt the graphic design to modern requirements without modifying the system software, the system is connected to a device for converting the graphical output into a higher-order language data format for generating an arbitrary graphic design.
