  • Publication number: 20200283487
Abstract: The present invention provides a fusion protein comprising: i) a solubility-enhancing moiety which is derived from the N-terminal (NT) fragment of a spider silk protein; and ii) a C-type lectin polypeptide. The present invention also provides a truncated SP-A polypeptide which lacks the N-terminal domain of full SP-A and is capable of trimerisation, and to the use of such a truncated SP-A polypeptide in treating or preventing a disease.

  • Publication number: 20070260638
Abstract: A system for permitting the flexible handling of large amounts of structured data in files on smart cards and similar data storage units. The present invention introduces a new type of command which extracts relevant portions of structured information that is stored in files on smart cards and similar data units, instead of reading the complete data set and parsing it in the terminal. The present invention can also be applied to other, non-card storage media.

  • Publication number: 20070220498
Abstract: A method, computer program product and mobile terminal are disclosed for providing application interworking via a card application toolkit. Initially, a request is received from the card application toolkit to access a requested application, such as a Java MIDlet. A determination is then made as to whether the requested application is registered, such as by searching a registry for an address associated with the requested application. If registered, the requested application is launched. The method, computer program product and mobile terminal can also initially register at least one application, such as by storing an address of the application in a registry. The registration of the application can also include the designation of a port associated with a user identity module (UIM) for connection with an application via a transport control protocol (TCP) socket or a user datagram protocol (UDP) datagram.

  • Publication number: 20070155400
Abstract: A method of determining a location of a mobile terminal using a user identity module (UIM) includes issuing an instruction from the UIM to the mobile terminal instructing the mobile terminal to perform a positioning event and receiving position data from the mobile terminal responsive to the positioning event.

  • Publication number: 20050098066
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for regulating the porosity and printing properties of paper, in particular uncoated wood-containing paper such as SC-paper, wherein a sufficient quantity of colloidal PCC having a BET surface area of 10-100 m2/g is used as a filler in the paper to achieve a desired porosity of the paper; as well as paper containing colloidal PCC as filler, and a pigment mixture suitable for paper manufacture and containing colloidal PCC.

  • Patent number: 5608797
Abstract: An on-line indicator (40) for the multipurpose headset amplifier comprises a holder in two parts (45) arranged to be snapped onto the ascending, holder (10) which is mounted on the housing (5) of the multipurpose headset amplifier. The on-line indicator has a rotatable indicator or light emitting diode (41) which is coupled to the multipurpose headset amplifier by means of a cable (42). The light diode will light up when the headset is in use to indicate to others that the user of the headset is on the line.

  • Patent number: 5303308
Abstract: An audio frequency compressing system for amplifying an input signal to produce a power output signal while removing high-level signals which could harm a listener. Gain control in the feedback path of an amplifier includes both a gain controller circuit for supplying a constant feedback impedance and a plurality of resistors which can be coupled to the gain controller circuit to increase or decrease the feedback impedance. Coupling of the resistors to the gain controller circuit is controlled by a feedback control circuit having both an automatic gain control circuit and a continuous high-level protection circuit.

  • Patent number: 5029729
Abstract: By method of dispensing vapor, preferably perfumed vapor, to the air in a room from a vapor dispensing substance, vapor is dispensed by means of an electrically controlled control device for controlling the vapor dispensation of the vapor dispensing substance, and an electrical circuit for controlling the current supply to the control device. By the fact that the electrical circuit is supplying a time controlled, gradually increasing current supply to the control device in time periods with intermediate periods of no current supply to the control device is achieved that the concentration of the vapor dispensed is kept at a constant level, until the vapor dispensation substance has been used up.
