  • Publication number: 20040094543
Abstract: A microwave oven equipped with a toaster and a method of controlling the same. Particularly, the microwave oven equipped with the toaster is provided with a plurality of heaters and a plurality of buttons each corresponding to one or more heaters to selectively operate the heaters provided in the toaster, thereby minimizing a power consumption resulting from an unnecessary operation of the heaters. Further, the microwave oven equipped with the toaster and the method of controlling the same limits a consumption current by preventing the toaster and the magnetron from simultaneously operating, thereby being applicable to, for example, the wall mounted microwave oven having a limited consumption current.

  • Publication number: 20040060922
Abstract: A composite cooking machine includes a plurality of switches which are connected in series with a plurality of component cooking machines, between a circuit breaker in a home and the component cooking machines, respectively, to selectively supply power to the component cooking machines. A control unit of the composite cooking machine controls the switches so as to supply the power to only one of the component cooking machines, without responding to a key signal for another one of the component cooking machines, where a cooking operation performed by the one component cooking machine has not been completed. Therefore, the composite cooking machine does not allow simultaneous operations of the component cooking machines, and prevents unnecessary operations of the circuit breaker. Accordingly, the reliability of the composite cooking machine is improved.

  • Publication number: 20040046454
Abstract: A complex home appliance and a method of controlling and installing the same. The complex home appliance includes a single power supply unit shared by two or more component home appliances of the complex home appliance. The two or more component home appliances are controlled by a single control unit of the complex home appliance. The complex home appliance can be operated in a simultaneous operation mode in which the two or more component home appliances are simultaneously operable, and an individual operation mode in which only one of the two or more component home appliances is operable. The complex home appliance includes a mode-setting unit to set the simultaneous or individual operation mode. The complex home appliance includes a power cut-off unit which supplies power to the single power supply unit and cuts off the supply of the power in response to being electrically opened at the time of an electrical overload.

  • Publication number: 20030102307
Abstract: A microwave oven includes openings and microwave dispersing apparatuses which are arranged to align with a magnetron in a row below a cooking cavity so as to reduce the overall size of a waveguide and uniformly reflect high-frequency electromagnetic waves to all regions of the cooking cavity. The center of a first opening is disposed at a downstream location away from the magnetron by a distance corresponding to one of odd numbers times a half-wavelength of a standing wave in the waveguide, while the center of a second opening is disposed at an upstream location which is offset from another distance away from the magnetron corresponding to another one of the odd numbers times the half-wavelength of the standing wave in the waveguide.

  • Patent number: 6072169
Abstract: A wall mounted microwave oven is provided which includes a body forming therein a cavity for accommodating food to be cooked, a magnetron for generating electromagnetic waves to be provided into the cavity, a casing surrounding the body and forming therein a hood duct having an inlet port positioned at the bottom portion of the casing and an outlet port positioned in the upper portion thereof, and a hood fan installed in the hood duct. The wall mounted microwave oven includes a hood sensor for sensing a status that operation of saidhood fan is needed; a first switch for selectively supplying one out of a low-level voltage and a normal voltage to the magnetron, and a controller for controlling the hood fan to operate if a detect signal informing operation of said hood fan is needed is input from the hood sensor and simultaneously controlling the first switch to change the electric power to be supplied to the magnetron from the normal voltage into the low-level voltage.

  • Patent number: 6025582
Abstract: A wall type microwave oven having a hood device and an output control method thereof are disclosed. The microwave oven includes a first switch section for switching a power supply to a hood motor of the hood device, and a second switch section for switching power supply to a hood lamp of the hood device. A third switch section controls the output of the microwave oven by several stages. A control section switches/controls the third switch section, responsive to a control of the first or second switch section, such that when the microwave oven is operated with the hood motor or said hood lamp, output of the microwave oven is to be a low level.

  • Patent number: 6018158
Abstract: A microwave oven has an inner casing for forming a cooking chamber, and an outer casing for enclosing the inner casing. An air duct is formed between the inner casing and the outer casing. A drawing port and an exhaust port are formed respectively on the lower and the upper sides of the outer casing, and the air duct interconnects the ports. A ventilator is installed beside the cooking chamber in the air duct. The ventilator has an axial fan rotating about a vertical axis so as to draw air into the air duct through the suction port and exhaust air in the air duct through the exhaust port. The size of the cooking chamber is not reduced by the ventilator since the ventilator is installed beside the cooking chamber, and the drawing force of gas increases to thereby enhance the ventilation effect since the ventilator is disposed near the drawing port.
