  • Patent number: 3957018
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for removing the teat-cup cluster of a milking machine from the animal at the end of milking. The device comprises a container connected to the milk line from the teat-cups. The container is mounted on a fulcrum and when the container contains a certain volume of milk it tilts into an activated position. When the volume of milk in the container drops to a certain level the container tilts back to release a spring-loaded lever which then pinches the milk line to cut off the teat-cups from the vacuum source, and, at the same time, the lever causes a cylinder and piston device to retract the teat-cup cluster from the animal.
