  • Patent number: 9784821
Abstract: A laser sensor module array for vehicle identification, speed monitoring and traffic safety applications. Each of the laser sensor modules comprise a laser signal transmitting and receiving port with the array comprising a basic row of N laser sensor modules, wherein N is greater than 1 and wherein each of the N laser sensor modules in the basic row is displaced at an acute angle with respect to adjacent ones of the laser sensor modules. An additional row of N laser sensor modules may adjoin the basic row of N laser sensor modules in a parallel or acute angular relationship to corresponding ones in the basic row.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 2, 2015
Date of Patent: October 10, 2017
Assignees: LASER TECHNOLOGY, INC., KAMA-TECH (HK) LIMITED
    Inventors: Jiyoon Chung, Jeremy Dunne

  • Publication number: 20060285233
Abstract: A high precision, high performance optical system and beam pathway design for laser-based distance measuring, or range-finding, devices includes an etched, or etched and filled, aiming reticle in the image plane which does not require daytime use illumination, and only minimal auxiliary illumination during nighttime operation, thereby conserving available battery power. In a preferred embodiment, a low power consuming back-lit liquid crystal display provides high contrast distance or other operational information to a user superimposed upon a black-appearing field stop thereby further providing operational power savings.

  • Publication number: 20060039065
Abstract: An efficient optical system and beam transmission and reception pathway design of particular applicability in the implementation of a cost effective, compact laser-based range-finding instrument. The design is one in which the visual pathway may be made coincident with either the laser transmission or laser reception pathway and may conveniently be implemented in conjunction with a low cost liquid crystal display (LCD) aiming reticle and head up (HUD) information display or in conjunction with a light emitting diode (LED) element. In accordance with the present invention, relatively inexpensive plate mirrors may be used to replace more conventional and costly prism-based implementations.

  • Publication number: 20050221905
Abstract: A rangefinding instrument and method for automatically determining and providing user specific suggestions for golfing applications wherein a user enters at least one club type and associated representative user range for the at least one club type to a data store associated with a rangefinding instrument. The instrument determines a range to a selected point on a golf course and extrapolates and displays a suggested club type appropriate to the determined range from the stored data. Other factors, such as the course terrain, weather and/or soil conditions may be analyzed to provide an alternative suggested club type for the same determined distance.

  • Patent number: 5528518
Abstract: A portable data acquisition device, including a position-determining device and data collector, determines and stores positional data associated with objects positioned in a geographical area within sight of the device. Data representative of attributes associated with the objects are also stored in the device. The data stored in the device can be transferred to processing circuitry of a computer and absolute positional coordinates of the objects are determined. The absolute positional coordinates and the data representative of the attributes associated with the objects are placed in files accessible by geographic information system (GIS) software which utilizes the data to form a geographic information system (GIS) database from which GIS maps may be formed.
