  • Publication number: 20160368278
Abstract: A labelling machine comprises a first motive apparatus configured to advance a label web along a label web path; an encoder arranged to output a sensor signal which is indicative of a rate of movement of said label web along said label web path; and a printer configured to print on said label web, the printer including a second motive apparatus configured to advance a print ribbon along a ribbon path. The labelling machine further comprises a controller configured to receive said sensor signal and control the second motive apparatus based on the sensor signal. The controller is configured to supply a pulsed control signal to the second motive apparatus, the intervals between pulses of the pulsed control signal being a function of a desired rate of movement of the print ribbon along the ribbon path.

  • Publication number: 20160159103
Abstract: A method for controlling a thermal printhead of a printer. The printhead comprises an array of printing elements. The method may comprise performing a plurality of printing operations, each printing operation comprising energisation of one or more printing elements. A respective energisation value is determined for each printing element based upon energisations of that printing element during said printing operations. A printhead control signal is generated for the printhead for a subsequent printing operation based upon the energisation values of a predetermined subset of the printing elements.

  • Publication number: 20150376946
Abstract: A pultrusion process comprises steps of: pulling a matrix of continuous reinforcement fibers through a wet-out chamber and forming die while injecting thermoplastic resin (e.g. thermoplastic polyurethane) into the wet-out chamber, and providing secondary stations that remove, reform, and/or add material downstream of the forming die using heat and pressure to form a final beam shape with integrally-formed features thereon. The reinforcement matrix is optimally glass fiber, but can include different types of reinforcements, including strands, bundles, mats, weavings, rods, and other reinforcements and combinations of reinforcements, each of which can be strategically located in the beam profile. The final beam includes intermittent or continuous specialized features integrated into the beam along its length, allowing reduction of material waste, reduced/minimized later assembly, and reduced total number of parts.

  • Publication number: 20110196802
Abstract: A computing device generates job search results for a user. The computing device accesses a social network account of the user to determine employers of contacts in the user's social network. For each job search result, the computing device determines a number of contacts in the user's social network that work for an employer associated with the job search result. The computing device then ranks the job search results based at least in part on the number of contacts in the user's social network that work for employers associated with the job search results. The computing device then provides the ranked search results to the user.
