Publication number: 20140331459Abstract: Apparatus and associated methods may relate to a Self-Retracting Lifeline Connecting System (SRLCS) that securely attaches to a fall-protection safety harness, and further provides connections to a plurality of safety devices. In an illustrative example, the SRLCS may include a D-pad adapted for rear attachment to a back-pad of a safety harness. In some examples the D-pad may have webbing apertures through which two sections of webbing may be threaded in a criss-crossed manner. In some embodiments, the D-pad may provide an attachment for a first harness ring. In some exemplary embodiments, the D-pad may also provide a tunnel structure for routing a second harness ring therethrough. In an illustrative example, the tunnel may be located immediately adjacent the criss-cross location of the two sections of webbing, thereby permitting a carabiner to make use of the tunnel to capture the two sections of webbing.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2013Publication date: November 13, 2014Inventors: Jeremy Fink, Bradley Rohlf, Shelly Mihalic

Patent number: 8623204Abstract: A stormwater gully comprises a chamber in which an outlet assembly is installed. The outlet assembly comprises filter units connected to an outlet housing. In use, stormwater can flow from the chamber in an upwards direction through filter units into the outlet housing. The outlet housing has an outlet, which extends from the gully. At high rates of flow, the water level in the chamber will rise until water can flow into the outlet housing through bypass inlets. The bypass inlets are connected to the interior of the housing by siphons defined by arched regions of a top cover. The siphons allow rapid discharge of water until the water level returns below the level of the bypass inlets. A slow drain down feature is provided which enables the chamber and outlet assembly to be drained below the level of the primary inlet.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2013Date of Patent: January 7, 2014Assignee: Hydro International plcInventors: Robert Yaw Gyamfi Andoh, Jeremy Fink, Michael Guy Faram, Jeremy Paul Lecornu

Publication number: 20140001106Abstract: A treatment device for stormwater is provided that comprises a container which in use contains a growing medium and a hydrodynamic separator located within the container. The hydrodynamic separator comprises a separation chamber, an inlet duct extending from the outside of the container to the separation chamber, a solids outlet; and a liquid outlet that opens into the container. In use, liquid flow containing solids enters the separation chamber through the inlet duct and is caused to swirl within the separation chamber, thereby causing solids to exit the separation chamber through the solids outlet and liquid to exit the separation chamber through the liquid outlet and to flow into the growing medium.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 27, 2013Publication date: January 2, 2014Applicant: Hydro International plcInventors: Jeremy FINK, Andrew Pearson Nancollis, Robert Yaw Gyamfi Andoh, Keith Garry Hutchings

Patent number: 8342338Abstract: A separator 2 for separating solids, such as grit, from an influent, such as water, the tray assembly 4 comprising a plurality of nested tray units 14 which are spaced apart from one another along a vertical separator axis 16. Each tray unit 14 comprises a substantially conical tray 18, an aperture 20 in the apex of the tray 18, and a means for restricting flow through the respective aperture 20, such as a baffle 22 disposed at or adjacent the aperture 20. In use, grit is separated from water circulating among the trays 18 and falls through successive apertures 20 in each of the trays to exit through the bottom of the tray assembly 4. The baffles 22 restrict upward flow through the apertures 20 in the trays 18 thereby reducing agitation of the grit.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2010Date of Patent: January 1, 2013Assignee: Hydro International plcInventors: Robert Yaw Gyamfi Andoh, Jeremy Fink, Michael Guy Faram, Paul Stephen Barter

Patent number: 7344636Abstract: A separator comprises a gully chamber 2 having inlet and outlet ducts 10, 12. Inlet and outlet housings 20, 22 are disposed within the separator and are connected by a bypass duct 24 which extends around the wall of the chamber 2. Flow enters the chamber through an inlet which is oriented to create a circulating flow. Flow exits from the chamber through an outlet opening provided in the outlet housing 22. The outlet opening is oriented in the direction of the circulating flow so that liquid has to reverse from that flow to pass through the outlet opening. The inlet and outlet housings 20, 22 are made from identical mouldings in which appropriate openings are formed. The bypass duct can be cut to length to position the inlet and outlet housings 20, 22 opposite existing inlet and outlet ducts 10, 12.Type: GrantFiled: August 26, 2004Date of Patent: March 18, 2008Assignee: Hydro International PLCInventors: Michael Guy Faram, Mark Richard Bowditch, Paul Lecornu, Pam J.
