Abstract: Techniques for using a lexical dialect analysis system to analyze words based on sound pattern constraints and non-sound specific constraints are described herein. A first set of sound pattern constraints specifying word positions of phonetic sounds is applied to a set of lexicon entries to produce a first subset of the set of lexicon entries. A second set of non-sound specific constraints specifying non-sound specific aspects of words is also applied to the set of lexicon entries to produce a second subset of the set of lexicon entries. The lexicon entries that satisfy both sets of constraints are returned.

Abstract: A single-mode grating-outcoupled surface emitting (GSE) semiconductor laser architecture is provided. This architecture enables high speed modulation of the GSE laser, which is accomplished by only varying the relative phase of counter propagating waves in the outcoupler grating region of the lasing cavity.

Abstract: A jewelry setting for accommodating a plurality of different size stones is provided. The jewelry setting includes a plurality of prongs each angularly directed from a substantially common location such that any of a number of different size stones may be set within the prongs without adjusting the angular direction of any of the prongs.
